Job Summary

helloU is an exciting and fast growing youth media group with global ambitions.

We have raised over £1m from leaders within media, to launch and accelerate the growth of its mobile discount & loyalty platform.

We are looking for a Sales Manager superstar, to be responsible for the digital revenue line and grow the digital sales team from the ground up.

This exciting role requires someone with 5+ year’s sales experience, including 2 years sales experience within the discount, deal, loyalty or location based marketing sector.

What is helloU Today?
helloU enables brands to engage with students from the first day of University and then acquire a loyal customer base, from which they can track, react and target in real time and location, based on a user’s purchasing behaviour.

With exclusive advertising rights in more than 66% of student bedrooms (for up to 5 years), helloU is the market leader in reaching students. helloU produces the official welcome parcel on behalf of 104 Universities, which is placed direct into 300K student bedrooms to greet a new student’s arrival. The only student brand with contracted channels into universities, helloU has adopted the Bounty model, which sold for £70m in 2007 and applied it to the student market. As the only company with advertising rights into student bedrooms, helloU has enabled over 130 major brands to be the first to engage with each new wave of students. Brands include: Tesco, Kraft, Colgate Palmolive, P&G, Orange, Unilever, Megabus, Kelloggs, Boots, BEBO, Ryanair and Bella Italia.

Leveraging off its unique access to each new of students, helloU has recently launched helloU.com with great success, which is a student mobile loyalty & discount platform that continues the journey online for both students and brands.

What has helloU Achieved So Far?
helloU has grown by 500% in contracted distribution, 577% in Revenue and 3,400% in Gross Profit since launch in 2008. helloU’s success has resulted in two awards, an acquisition offer from a media group within its first year of trading and two offers from global media groups to franchise the business internationally.

It has raised over £1m to launch and accelerate its student mobile discount & loyalty platform.

Where is helloU Going?
helloU’s mission is to build the global media and loyalty group that specialises in the youth market.

In addition to international expansion, helloU will launch its own products under the helloU brand and leverage off its contracted distribution, customer database and brand loyalty to take a share of the £20bn spent by students each year.


What will your Role be?
As Sales Manager, you will take ownership of helloU.com’s revenue line and be responsible for leading and building the digital sales team from the ground up.

You and your team will be selling our discount and loyalty platform to national chains, local retailers, agencies and affiliate networks.

You will help set strategic direction, attend management meetings and own the targets for the digital sales department.

You will be joining helloU at a point of rapid acceleration and will benefit from the support of our contracted stronghold into the student market, established brand relationships, an experienced management team and secured investment.

You must have a strong commercial approach, plus have 5+ years sales experience, including 2 years sales experience within the discount, deal, loyalty or location based marketing sector.

You must be a highly driven and ambitious person, who is very proactive, keen to get stuck in
