Support QA Engineer

at Nexmo in London

Nexmo is expanding its London team, we are looking for a Support QA Engineer

Responsibilities

- Develop and execute test scenarios using a variety of pre-built tools, automation tools and ad-hoc scripting
- Assist engineering and operations teams with configuration updates, rollouts and deployments
- Provide internal and external support (3rd level customer support).
- Raise defects / Investigate issues.
- Implement ad hoc scripts where required (data repair, custom queries or reconciliation)
- Maintain deployment documentation

Desired Skills & Experience

- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working on a project involving testing of a high volume transaction based system.
- Unix/Linux, shell scripting (bash, perl), ability to build simple web tools (php)
- Familiarity with standard unix services (apache, ftp, ha-proxy, dns).
- Understanding of networking, IP, connected systems.
- Familiarity with packet sniffing (tcpdump, wireshark).
- Experience of supporting mission critical production systems.
- Working with application logs to understand issues.
- MySQL, data structures, schemas, database performance testing.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Good written and spoken English.
