Founded by Dr. Steve Leung and Bob Leung, Innovative Medic is a dynamic, young and ambitious startup that aims to disrupt the Healthcare recruitment industry by being the “LinkedIn” of the medical sector globally.


rLocums.com is our first step towards this vision. It’s a rapidly growing web service that creates a marketplace for GP locums and GP surgeries to find each other online and organise their bookings. Launched a little over a year ago, rLocums grew from an idea two brothers had into a company processing over £1.5million of bookings. We are now on track to become a dominant player in GP locum bookings. If you want to help us make this happen, read on.


THE POSITION


Our office is in London, at the heart of the UK Startup community. But you have the option to work from home. Your mission is to help raise awareness and usage of rLocums and for rLocums to become a household name within the medical recruitment sector.


You do not need a medical background but you must be able to think creatively about our route to market and how to get GPs and surgeries to use our system.


You will be given the freedom to come up with ideas and implement them. Of course, we’re here to help and support you. And in true startup manner, the success of an idea is judged against real time usage statistics.


The remit is simple, but you must stick to the following guidelines, which represent our values as a team and a company:


We’re the good guys: no aggressive sales tactics that damage the brand


We get things done: you need to roll sleeves up and execute the ideas


Our goal is to delight our customers: you must maintain customer satisfaction


We’re efficient: the initial marketing budget must only involve small expenses and your time, though later on bigger campaigns may be planned


We’re open and transparent: long term brand building via tools such as social media is encouraged

We are looking for a very keen person who wants to get a great start in the startup world. There are very few opportunities out there for a non-technical person to join a profitable tech startup with a global potential at ground level. You’ll be our first permanent employee!


Not only will you learn first hand the inner workings of a successful technology startup, you will be able to participate in the development of our business and most importantly, you will help shape the future of the company.


The pay starts at £20-30k/y base pay dependent on experience with a salary review every 6 months. You will be given personal targets and will receive additional bonus if you achieve the goals. As the company grows, the right person will have the opportunity to fast track through the rank of an expanding team.

YOU


This is not a job for everybody. You must be flexible, pragmatic, have tons of energy and enthusiasm, love talking to people, with excellent written and spoken communication skills. You will be making a lot of phone calls, so being able to establish rapport and not sounding like a telesales person is vital. You need to have a dedicated approach to following up over a long period of time, and be willing to try and figure out ways to help potential users even when they may not be interested in using our service at present. Healthcare is a big world, but the word spreads quickly, so having the right attitude is crucial to help us build and maintain our great reputation.


You need to be the kind of person who cares and wants to be passionate about their job. Please note that this doesn’t mean that we’ll work you to the bone. On the contrary, we believe in working healthy and productive hours. The best work is done by people who are happy, healthy and well-rested, and we want the best work.


Although there are no prerequisites in terms of skills or knowledge, it will help if you’re interested in the tech scene and in startups, and some familiarity with the world of healthcare will of course help. You must have great drive and a generally “nothing’s impossible” attitude.
