FLATFAIR’s mission is to improve financial freedom in the residential property market by the use of technology. By applying a digital and simpler approach to one of the oldest industries in the world, the company aims at creating innovative products that lower financial and administrative burdens at higher convenience and lower cost while employing arbitrage strategies that deliver double digit returns.

We will launch our first product (The Flatbond) in January 2017, targeting UK’s outdated £3.5bn tenancy deposit system by offering a simpler, more affordable and digital alternative – the Flatbond. For many renters paying a 6 week deposit in addition to an advanced month’s rent and agency fees is one of the largest financial outlays they’ll ever make – especially if a previous deposit is still stuck with the tenancy deposit schemes. Our tenants pay us only 1 week of rent as a fee instead of a 6 week deposit, but are still fully liable and pay us after their tenancy in case of damage. At present, only ~1% of deposits is being disputed at the end of a tenancy which looks clearly in favor of our business model. The Flatbond is sold through letting agents. They offer the product as an alternative to the current tenancy deposit schemes and earn up to £75 referral fee per Flatbond. After a successful roll-out in the UK, FLATFAIR is planning to expand its offering globally – we believe that the Flatbond is a really good product to start with.

Where we currently stand: MVP is shipped and we are trialing the product with letting agents ahead of our launch in January 2017. During the trial period, more than 50% of tenants decided for the Flatbond and against the tenancy deposit schemes which shows clear product-market fit.

Founder and advisers bring background in Finance, Insurance & Lettings. However, we are missing expertise in Business Development, Sales & Marketing.

Ideally, you will have a proven track record in business development, sales or marketing and will be confident in driving our sales pipeline by building trusted partnerships. You are structured, hands-on and always good for a laugh? We are looking forward to receiving your application!
