CTO for London's new cycle scheme
at Buzzbike in London
Position: Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder
Package: Salary + Equity
Who are Buzzbike?
Buzzbike was founded in 2015 by Tom, an ex Apple marketing executive and Andy a business strategist, with an unreasonable ambition: Make cycling the dominant mode of commuter transport in the worlds most congested cities. The first phase of achieving this ambition was to reinvent the city cycle scheme with a disruptive new model that leases commuters a connected single speed bike that rewards the rider the more it’s ridden. All for free. 24/7. In return riders’ commit to riding a designated number of days per month and visibly parking their bikes on the street, enabled by a rider app that magically pairs with the bike when in proximity and technology that tracks, motivates and rewards riders.
All of this is made possible because Buzzbike partners with progressive brands and organisations who leverage the Buzzbike platform to create customised branded cycle schemes. A business model that led the BBC to write an article about Buzzbike entitled ‘How cycle advertising will save the world’

A strong foundation has been built ahead of a full launch in 2017

In 2017 they will build on this success with a launch of a further 1,500 bikes ahead of global rollout in 2018.
