About the company

Our events business has grown strongly since we started Talent Leaders Connect and Recruitment Leaders Connect in 2013 as a way of building relationships for our technology business, TheJobPost Ltd. That early idea has grown into one of Europe’s leading live events series for HR and Recruitment professionals, with over 2,000 professionals attending our events and over 100 corporate sponsors. Year on year we have expanded the number and size of events, we have improved quality, and we have consistently grown revenue by over 33% per year. In 2016 we have delivered over 20 live events, and have launched Private Label events and tested new digital campaign products with our customers as we expand our value to our sponsors and help them connect in different ways with the HR and recruiter communities. In 2017 we plan for further growth with 5 new live events and continued expansion of our private label series, and regular digital campaigns.

About the team
Our events team is split into two parts: Events Sales and Events Operations. The Events Sales team focus on finding sponsors for all our events, and closing the contracts. Once sold, sponsors are handed over on a per-event basis to the Operations team to deliver. We are expanding the Events team with the addition of two new roles; one event executive and this role to focus on data & delegate acquisition. Other existing members of the team are JP, our Founder, Andy, our Commercial Director; Jovan, our marketing exec focused on delivering our growing digital propositions and supporting marketing of our events on social and other media; and Jess, our senior events manager focused on delivery of the live events and all related logistics.

About the role

The internship role is to work full time with our team in the London office. You will be working very closely with Jovan, our marketing exec, on a day to day basis and with the rest of the team regularly. The primary purpose of the job is to build out the data sets we need to recruit delegates and sponsors for events and run digital campaigns, and then working to engage the audiences and get sign-ups for the events we hold through the year by contacting the individuals.

You’ll need basic project management skills backed by a commitment to getting tasks done, and will develop increasing project management skills as you work with us. Tasks will include taking a brief of events and translating that into a delegate profile that we can use to engage with the delegate audience.
One of the foundations of our business is data, so you’ll be part of making sure our data is super high quality and grows, by reviewing and updating our data sets per event.
You will be able to build a knowledge of the issues and themes that impact delegates and sponsors among our current key audiences of HR & recruiters through research and constant communication with potential delegates
As we approach our events you will be working with our marketing exec to promote the event through all channels, and support sourcing and scheduling of social media content
You will also get involved in growing some of our twitter and Linkedin communities
As part of an experienced events team, you’ll have an opportunity to learn about the HR, HR Tech, and recruiting sectors in depth, and understand how a b2b events business is run.
On the day of events we will get you involved helping out with events logistics so you’ll get a chance to see the end results of your work in person and build your own personal network

Your Experience
You will have a university degree or equivalent education and be starting out in the world of work and keen to build a career in event management, marketing or social media. Ideally you will have some experience working with data and social media, with advanced research skills. If you have a knowledge of recruiting and/or HR, even better.

We need someone digitally literate. That means you will have decent skills using the basics of word and excel through understanding how to get the most from social networking platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook. Most important, you will be skilled at using the internet for research and data building.

Benefits
We offer a reasonable salary for an internship role up to £18k for the right person, plus a quarterly company bonus scheme and state pension. As a start-up we have an options programme that you will qualify for after a year working with us. You get 22 days holidays, plus an extra day on your birthday. Our office is based in central London near Blackfriars.
