Business Development Manager

at Compucorp in London

(₤28000 - ₤42500 per year)

We like to build stuff… sometimes complicated stuff… for people who like to make a difference! We work with Non-Profits, Charities and Art Galleries to help them navigate the complex digital landscape and create great digital experiences for their audiences.

We’re a bootstrapped startup that has grown rapidly (from 10 to over 30 so far) based solely on the quality of the work we’ve been producing and we’re on the lookout for a confident and ambitious Business Development Manager to join our team.

We do things a little differently, basing all our solutions on open source products, having flexible working hours and real team mentality. Our work covers web design, app development and branding for Charities and non-profit organisations across the country. We have a great office location off Redchurch Street in Shoreditch and a diverse mixture of clients doing exciting and challenging projects. Our clients include Charities such as Wikimedia, Farm Africa and Amnesty, galleries such as the Photographers Gallery and Craft Central but also companies, trade associations and government bodies.

You will be our first business development manager, so expect to have lots of exposure and responsibility to implement processes across the entire sales cycle. You will have freedom but also support from our office administrator and will work closely with the Chief Executive on developing opportunities.

The role will be diverse but expect to be:

- Planning and managing our communications including social media

- Being our presence at events and conferences

- Helping to organise our monthly meetups, annual conferences whilst speaking regularly at both

- Warm inbound lead conversion (we’re lucky enough that our reputation precedes us so there's no cold calling… ever!)

- Preparing proposals and responding to tenders

- Helping to shape the strategic direction of the company as we grow new offerings and services

- Being a part of building a dynamic sales and marketing team

The ideal candidate will have:

- Proven experience in a business development role for a technical product

- Soft sales skills: understanding that a digital project is about developing a long-term relationship with a client!

- A real interest in technology, digital platforms and of course open source!

- Great presentation skills including the ability to perform technical demonstrations

- Great interpersonal and networking skills

- Excellent written English and attention to detail

- A creative eye would be a positive

- Ability to learn new things and adapt… fast!

What were looking for is someone who can grasp concepts quickly, has great attention to detail and most importantly loves a tech challenge. In short, we’re a team of self-confessed geeks who love tinkering and tweaking until something is just right, and we’re looking for someone with the same “can do” attitude to join our growing team.

If you think this is the role for you, please send your CV through to us with a short covering statement explaining what caught your interest and why you think you’ll fit in.
