As the Financial Administrator, you will take responsibility for the company’s financial management including financial reporting, financial control, transactions and cash flow, the monthly payroll, and investment support.


The Role and You

Initially, you will have ownership over the financial processes pertaining to our payroll and accounts payable, refining them as you see fit. You will need to prepare the ground for a steady increase in app-based transactions as well as other payments and receipts, implementing a scalable system and processes that help us to stick to the rules and regulations and promote a strong controls environment, while minimizing overhead. In parallel, you will produce the monthly financial reports for the business.

Over time, you will bring the budget process under your wing, use financial modeling to help the leadership team to plan for the future, and support the CEO with raising investment capital.

You will report to the Head of Operations and you will be working closely with the CEO.


Your initial job scope will include, but will not be limited to:

Payroll and accounts payable
o Preparing and executing the monthly payment run for colleagues and suppliers
o As the business scales, you’ll adapt the processes accordingly

Financial reporting
o Compiling monthly management accounts and communicating them back to the business
o Developing the P&L to help us better understand the business’ performance

Transactions management
o Recording cash flow and ensuring regulatory compliance
o Helping to craft processes for handling hundreds of electronic transactions per month

Investment and strategy
o Handling subscription letters, updating the share capital table, and completing EIS tax
o Financial modelling to help the CEO in decision making and fund raising

Compliance and controls
o Ensuring tax and other regulatory filings are completed in a timely manner
o Review and develop the internal control environment


Your experience should include the following:

Core
• 2+ years as a financial administrator or in a similar role
• Executing the payments for payroll and suppliers
• Running management accounts and a P&L
• Budgeting and financial modelling
• Regulatory compliance
• Expert level in Excel

Nice to have
• Proficiency in Xero
• EIS tax experience
• An understanding of share subscriptions
• Familiarity with share capital
• Experience of improving a controls environment
