Sales/Project Engineer

Tala is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Sales Engineer to join a fast growing design and manufacturing brand in East London. Our mission is to create exquisite products that have a positive impact on the world.

Tala is growing quickly across retail, project and partnership pipelines and have had the pleasure of working with many great companies. With depth across our collections, we are able to design within a host of environments meaning that the scope for growth is boundless.
With operations across Europe, North America and China, our sales team is looking for a Specification Engineer to bolster our expertise. A strong candidate will merge their engineering background with a friendly sales approach to build a robust and exciting project pipeline. Those not able to grab the bull by its horns need not apply.

About the role:

The role will involve, but not be limited to:
• Leading and developing a strong project portfolio throughout Europe.
• Having high levels of autonomy and scope for growth within a fast moving company.
• Understanding the specification process and working deals from start to finish.
• Understand and implement lighting schedules whilst ensuring that Tala is best represented from a design and commercial perspective.
• Regular meetings and business with new and existing clients. We want a healthy mix between architects, lighting designers, interior designers and contract manufacturers.
• Hitting weekly, monthly and quarterly KPIs. This will comprise of a mixture of face to face meetings, outbound calls, deal stage movement and revenue.
• Where necessary implemented understanding of RElux and DIALux
• Working closely with our global distribution network, developing and assisting projects where necessary. This will likely require travel.
• Control, manage and update Tala CRM
• Develop a strong lead portfolio and conversion ratio.
• Ensure that we have great relationships with dimming companies and make sure our products have high performance on every project

• Technical knowledge of the latest dimming systems and protocol.

• Able to relate to all walks of life but specifically architects, lighting and interiors designers.
• You are inspired by the projects you work on and the ideas you implement.
• You are a strong negotiator driving hard but fair deals and you know how to enjoy yourself in the process.
• You have DIALux/Relux competency and a great knowledge of the specification process.
• Want to join a fast moving company with ambitious plans and a penchant for progress.

Compensation: £27,000 + Commission
