Category Development Manager

at Tailored in London

(₤20000 per year)

Sherlock Holmes needed. Apply today!

Tailored uncovers the truth about products. We organize the web’s insight about consumer products (think gadgets, kitchen gear, beauty tech and more…). We use this massively nuanced insight to help our users tailor products to their own personal needs in seconds (so they can avoid hours of product search).

We need a tenacious (and numerate) Sherlock Holmes to help us organise the web’s insight, to help our users find the right product for their needs, first time.

The role:

You’ll be helping us with our category development, data management and a little bit of data analysis to power our marketing communications. Your role will be to get under the skin of a product category, understanding how people make purchase decisions about products like blenders or smart wearables and then using this knowledge, create the questionnaires you see on the platform. You will directly manage our data team in India, ensuring they pull together all the relevant information required to power our search results. The role will be very data intensive and requires someone who is extremely numerate and comfortable working with lots of data. You also need to be meticulous and accurate. You will need to be a self-starter, able to prioritise tasks, be comfortable working with limited supervision and happy to work late sometimes to hit looming deadlines. Above all you will be passionate and hungry for a challenge.

We’re looking for someone with a marketing / relevant degree. You may be fresh out of university or already have some experience in a marketing role and are looking for your next move.

If this sounds like you then send us a quick summary (as well as your CV) explaining why you should be considered for this position. Spend a bit of time on this as it’s the bit that makes us understand what makes you tick and will let us know if we think you’ll fit right in.

About us:

Tailored tailors products to personal needs, effortlessly.

We’re building a new kind of decision engine – one that’s centered around creating effortlessly simple buying solutions for complex stuff. We believe too much time is taken up researching and comparing daily purchases. We can all describe what we want from a product but we have never been able to search the net in that way. Tailored lets you search based on what’s relevant to you. So, say you might be in the market for the best headphones for running that won’t annoy your neighbours on the tube, will fit in your handbag and work with your Samsung Galaxy, Tailored’s fiendishly clever decision engine works by matching the worlds products directly to your needs in a flash. Simple!
