We’re looking for a highly organised Accounts Assistant to join our wonderful Finance team!

Goodlord is a fast-moving, innovative company that’s growing its customer and product base at great pace. We’re looking for someone to work alongside the Financial Controller to implement and document new procedures to enable the Finance function to scale with this growth.

Responsibilities

An initial project will be on the Accounts Receivable side. You’ll be the person responsible for implementing a new billing process end-to-end, from the issuing of accurate and timely invoices for all revenue streams to the collection of cash. It will be your responsibility to chase the setup of direct debits and follow up when payments fail.
You’ll get to work cross functionally, particularly with our Success and Growth teams to ensure accuracy and assist the Success and Support teams with inbound queries.
Speaking directly to customers via email and phone to resolve queries will be a big part of the job and you’ll help to be the voice of the business.
On the Accounts Payable side you will liaise with external parties such as Deloitte to prepare weekly payment runs and monthly payroll and PAYE payments.
You’ll work closely with our Payments team and get to shadow our Payments Executive to understand their processes and help support them as they support you.
There will be opportunities to work with the Financial Controller on other projects such as monthly reporting or analysis as they arise - no two days are ever the same at Goodlord!

Skills and experience

You’ve got a financial background and experience in a similar role or a relevant degree
Your proficiency with spreadsheets is second to none
You’ve got proven attention to detail and work in a highly organised way
You come equipped with a great work ethic and have a reputation for being dependable
You’re comfortable with change especially when it comes to processes, tools and systems
Speaking of systems, you’re likely to have used tools such as Xero
Confidence speaking to customers on the phone and by email is natural to you
Wherever you can you try to make things better by taking initiative to adapt processes
