Medefer is an award-winning and rapidly expanding healthcare start-up, set up and led by senior specialist doctors. We are currently expanding rapidly in the UK with global ambitions. Medefer works with NHS commissioners and hospital trusts in a pioneering new way for GPs and their patients to consult virtually with specialists - reducing unnecessary hospital appointments and delivering specialist care in the community.

What’s the opportunity?

As a business operations intern at Medefer, your role will be hugely varied and exciting, working across a wide range of projects and initiatives. You’ll be jumping into all areas of the business, working closely with the founders and other key team members across operations, technical and healthcare administration as we execute our growth strategy. As a rapidly expanding business, this is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to gain wide-ranging experience in a growing, London healthcare company.

Key responsibilities:
• Office administration tasks.
• Answering incoming queries via phone and any patient enquiries
• To keep track of documentation renewal dates for staff and Consultants – for example CPD, Insurance, appraisals.
• Attend and take part in team meetings, regular reviews with line manager, etc.
• To maintain strict confidentiality and to adhere to the local and national Health and Safety regulations and Medefer’s Policies and Procedures.
• To build an understanding of all relevant Medefer and NHS systems to support the business.


• Educated to A-level or equivalent.
• Exceptional written and verbal English.
• Excellent organisational skills and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• An ability to manage deadlines, your workload and the expectations of clients, colleagues and suppliers.
• A love and genuine interest in healthcare and technology.
• Self-motivated, driven, and engaging.
• Ability to work without supervision but seek advice when appropriate.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people from different cultures.
• Exceptional MS Office user.
• Confident and able to establish effective working relationships.

• University degree – minimum of 2:2 or above.
• Experience in varied health settings, including national health services, pharmacies, research and/or medical technologies.
• Competent communicator.
• Previous administrative work experience or work dealing with people.
• Skilled in using Microsoft Excel specifically.

• Initial 3-month short-term contract, with the first review at 6 weeks, with an opportunity to transition to full contract at the end of the period, if appropriate. The office hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.
