INTRO
Capdesk is looking for someone to join our young and rapidly scaling start-up. We’re changing the world of finance across Europe and we want a smart, hard-working and detail oriented Analyst to help us. Our small but expanding UK team is based in London just off Shoreditch High Street.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright candidate to get into the world of FinTech and take on responsibility as the first junior hire on the team. You’ll see first-hand what it takes to build an industry leading FinTech startup as you’ll be working closely everyday with the CEO, COO and Head of Sales.



COMPANY
At Capdesk we are on a mission to change the way that start-ups and investors manage their shareholdings and investments. We launched in Denmark in 2015 and gained customers across the Nordics. In 2016 we moved over to the UK and in 2017 we really solidified our presence here.


We’re already helping some of the tech scene’s major players by removing the headaches associated with organising Shareholder Registers and Option Plans. Companies like Secret Escapes, Tab Media, Money Dashboard & Nutmeg. That’s why we’re Europe’s leading cap table management platform. But this is just the start for us. 2018 promises to be a huge year at Capdesk and we want you to help continue our fantastic growth.



TEAM
Our team is a small, but has lots of experience. We’ve helped grow companies such as FundedByMe and Funding Circle as early employees and we’ve worked across the world in cities like Delhi, Berlin, San Francisco, Madrid, Copenhagen, Boston and Amsterdam. The majority of the team is based in Copenhagen working on the Product and Development aspects of the business while the Commercial and Operational aspects of the business sit in London.



ROLE
The day-to-day role involves working with new client’s data so they can be successfully onboarded onto Capdesk. Typically we receive 2-3 spreadsheets of transaction information that needs to be checked for missing information or errors before it is copied into a standardised format for upload.


An onboarding case can take anywhere from one hour to a couple of days depending upon its complexity and it’s up to you to ensure that a high level of detail is taken every step of the way. No half measures. In return you’ll get the opportunity to own the process as the companies grows. If you’ve got a great idea for how to improve the process and make things more efficient you can run with it. If you prove that you are capable and hard-working there will be plenty of opportunity to grow as the company double / triples in size over 2018.



CANDIDATE
You should be excited about getting in on the ground floor of a fast growing FinTech startup with a presence across Europe. We will teach you the technical aspects of how start-up financing works so we don’t expect a financial background or any formal training. However, this role is best suited to someone who has a natural passion for finance / startups and wants to learn more.


As lots of this role is going to be spent working in Excel / Google Sheets, being competent in navigating spreadsheet software is a must. We don’t expect you to know every keyboard shortcut (although great if you do) or even know Vlookups yet, but you will need to have an aptitude for picking things up quickly if you don’t have previous experience.


The role will involve a lot of hard graft. The majority of your day is going to be spent focusing on large datasets and maintaining a high level of concentration. Attention to detail is a must. As is being process driven and efficient. We are looking for hires who can grow with the business so that means having a passion for learning and coming up with new ideas. We want people to own the process and continuously look for a better way to get things done.


We think typically candidate will have a 2:1 Bachelors degree with a background in a numerate discipline e.g. decent A-Level in Maths or numeracy based degree e.g. Economics, Stats, Physics. But don’t be put off if that’s not you. Working hard, having a drive to learn, being excited about the business and being a nice person are the most important things for us. Pieces of paper and numbers of your CV don’t always demonstrate that the best so we’re always open to consider someone’s potential. If you think you’d be a good fit then send us a CV.
