We are currently a team of 40, soon to be working from a new office near London Bridge. You’ll be joining at the most exciting stage of our journey so far, as we solidify our position as Europe’s largest B2B food delivery platform.

This is a unique opportunity to join City Pantry as we grow our Finance department. Our Finance Assistant will report to our Financial Controller, and will take charge of our key finance tasks: overseeing invoicing and payments, managing our cash collections, payroll and taking ownership of the general ledger. You will have a key role in improving our internal control environment as we continue to grow, so you’ll need to be able to think fast but smart in a rapidly changing environment.

Specific tasks and responsibilities:

Take ownership of our general ledger and review postings made by our outsourced providers;
Prepare revenue and expense reconciliations;
Assist with managing cash collections from our debtors;
Review our supplier and vendor payments and process these in online banking;
Review our invoices and assist the FC in improving our invoicing process;
Assist with customer and vendor queries;
Prepare management accounts for FC review;
Preparation of the monthly payroll and associated reporting, expense claim review and P11D's;
Preparation and submission of VAT returns;
Assisting with cash and working capital management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

At least one year's experience working in an established finance function of a medium-sized company or high growth start-up is essential
Studied or studying towards AAT/ACCA
Experience with Xero Online will be highly beneficial
Experience in an e-commerce environment will also be beneficial but not essential
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Problem solving skills and ability to provide solutions
Good Excel skills (pivots, v-lookups etc) and familiarity with Google Sheets
Willingness to learn and build a career in Finance
