The​ ​General​ ​Manager​ ​position​ ​is​ ​one​ ​of​ ​the​ ​most​ ​challenging​ ​and​ ​impactful​ ​roles​ ​at​ ​Sonder.​ ​As the​ ​leader​ ​of​ ​Sonder​ ​in​ ​London,​ ​the​ ​GM​ ​is​ ​responsible​ ​for​ ​the​ ​overall​ ​growth​ ​and​ ​performance​ ​of our​ ​business​ ​in​ ​one​ ​of​ ​the​ ​world’s​ ​largest​ ​and​ ​most​ ​cosmopolitan​ ​cities.​ ​The​ ​General​ ​Manager is​ ​directly​ ​responsible​ ​for​ ​both​ ​growing​ ​our​ ​supply​ ​of​ ​Sonder​ ​units​ ​and​ ​delivering​ ​the​ ​service​ ​to our​ ​valued​ ​guests​ ​in​ ​the​ ​city.​ ​You​ ​have​ ​full​ ​ownership​ ​over​ ​the​ ​P&L​ ​and​ ​are​ ​ultimately responsible​ ​for​ ​scaling​ ​the​ ​city​ ​and​ ​consistently​ ​delivering​ ​on​ ​our​ ​brand​ ​promise​ ​across operations,​ ​hospitality,​ ​and​ ​business​ ​development.

What​ ​You'll​ ​Do
● Build​ ​a​ ​world-class​ ​team​ ​with​ ​individuals​ ​focused​ ​on​ ​operations,​ ​business​ ​development, corporate​ ​sales,​ ​real​ ​estate​ ​and​ ​hospitality ● Own​ ​and​ ​manage​ ​the​ ​city​ ​P&L ● Collaborate​ ​with​ ​senior​ ​leadership​ ​in​ ​setting​ ​strategies​ ​and​ ​OKRs​ ​for​ ​you​ ​and​ ​your​ ​team ● Deliver​ ​a​ ​world-class​ ​hospitality​ ​experience​ ​in​ ​the​ ​city,​ ​making​ ​our​ ​guests​ ​come​ ​back time​ ​after​ ​time ● Build​ ​a​ ​solid​ ​process​ ​to​ ​onboard​ ​all​ ​new​ ​locations,​ ​working​ ​closely​ ​with​ ​interior designers,​ ​property​ ​owners​ ​and​ ​our​ ​account​ ​management​ ​team ● Manage​ ​local​ ​regulatory​ ​concerns​ ​and​ ​local​ ​politics ● Communicate​ ​product/process​ ​needs​ ​to​ ​HQ ● Help​ ​scale​ ​our​ ​other​ ​cities​ ​through​ ​developing​ ​and​ ​sharing​ ​best​ ​practices

What​ ​We​ ​Look​ ​For
● 8-12​ ​years​ ​of​ ​professional​ ​services​ ​(i.e.,​ ​consulting,​ ​investment​ ​banking)​ ​and​ ​operations management​ ​experience ● Analytical​ ​and​ ​data​ ​driven​ ​decision​ ​making​ ​mentality ● Experience​ ​with​ ​or​ ​strong​ ​excitement​ ​for​ ​building​ ​a​ ​startup​ ​from​ ​the​ ​ground​ ​up ● Proven​ ​track​ ​record​ ​of​ ​managing​ ​high​ ​performance​ ​teams ● Excellent​ ​team​ ​player​ ​with​ ​strong​ ​written​ ​and​ ​verbal​ ​communication​ ​skills ● Comfortable​ ​working​ ​cross-functionally​ ​to​ ​make​ ​your​ ​city​ ​successful ● Out-of-the-box​ ​thinker​ ​who​ ​will​ ​find​ ​creative​ ​ways​ ​to​ ​hit​ ​growth​ ​targets ● Ability​ ​to​ ​thrive​ ​in​ ​a​ ​remote​ ​market,​ ​leading​ ​a​ ​small​ ​local​ ​team,​ ​in​ ​an​ ​autonomous​ ​way
