To put it simply, startups wouldn’t exist without at least a little creativity and innovation. In fact, creativity and innovation are usually the lifeblood of the biggest and best organisations, because they’re typically accompanied by a big portion of passion. Today is a day to celebrate all the wonderful innovative and creative startups on the market, and an opportunity to share helpful resources to get those creative juices flowing. Keep reading to find out more about creation and innovation in the startup world.

Artfinder

An online marketplace where consumers can support their favourite artists, and artists can make a living doing what they love. They aim to make buying art as simple as enjoying art in your home. Founded in 2011, this startup boasts over 7000 artists and has raised over £2.5M in funding so far.

MWM

This startup helps those in the music, video, photo or drawing industry to create their own apps to push their creativity even further. They have created over 30 apps, had 450M downloads, and operate in over 180 countries. Founded in 2009, this startup received over £41M in funding in 2020 so has, and will continue to, see significant growth.

Found Fiction

A community for short-story writers who want to share their works. Short stories are submitted, printed, and are then left in public places with envelopes marked ‘Read Me’. Writers and readers can connect via a series of hashtags, including #foundfiction (do you get the name now??). This fun startup was founded in 2013 and now works with over 100 writers across the globe!

PlayPlay

This startup is supposedly the simplest video editor to ever exist. While some creatives might enjoy having a million and one options, this editor narrows the choices and makes the process simpler. Founded in 2017, this startup has raised just over £8M so far.

StoryChief

The so-called ‘modern way to work on content’, this startup is an all-in-one tool for content creation, copywriting, social media, and more. Founded in 2016, StoryChief has come a long way in helping creatives across the globe, and has raised just under £1M along the way.
