    THE ROLE
    The commercial manager will contribute to the reinvention of the charities visitor attractions, hospitality, event programme and retail offering. Alongside the enterprise director, they will develop and deliver the commercial strategy as well as lead on all projects to maximise financial return and drive commercial success. The main purpose of the commercial manager is to attract and identify new opportunities whether through existing partnerships or new initiatives. 
      
      
    COMMERCIAL MANAGER'S KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To be responsible for the redevelopment of the charities visitor attraction, hospitality and retail offer and ongoing improvement of the commercial performance.
    • To lead on the development of the commercial plan including a full profit & loss, the impact of the strategic change initiatives. 
    • To actively pursue new and innovative business opportunities. 
    • To ensure new and existing initiatives are operating within agreed financial and commercial targets. 
    • Delivering outstanding commercial outcomes in line with the charities objectives. 
    • To analyse sales, marketing, finance and other reports. 
    • To prepare detailed, accurate and inspiring tenders and manage the appointment of contractors, contributors and vendors. 
    • To identify and progress opportunities for cross-selling activities.

      
    COMMERCIAL MANAGER SPECIFICATION

    • A strong understanding of the hospitality and retail sector. 
    • Experience of setting up, supporting and maintaining food and beverage concessions and visitor attractions. 
    • Driven in sales, profit, efficiencies and working with a wide portfolio of spaces. 
    • Excellent commercial acumen and the ability to deliver commercial targets. 
    • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. 
    • Experienced in negotiating.
    • Results-oriented approach. 
    • Demonstratable knowledge of commercial lettings, leasing, service charge collection, tenant negotiations and related duties. 
    • Strong organisational and project management skills. 
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    • Educated to a degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience.

    LOCATION 
    This charities head office is located in Newcastle. 
       
    Please note this role will involve working remotely for a temporary period due to COVID-19.
      

    SALARY & BENEFITS
    This role is offering a generous salary of £35,000 per annum. The role is a fixed two-year contract, however, with the growth of the charity and success of this position, there is room for this to be made permanent. 25 days holiday + bank holidays and pension 


    HOURS
    This is a full-time permanent role. Usual hours are Monday - Friday - 9:00 - 17:00. This role will involve regular evening and weekend working, and require regular travel throughout the charities catchment area. There may also be opportunities to travel abroad for events.
