WHO WE ARE

BYP Network was created in Autumn 2016 after the harrowing videos of Sandra Bland, Philando Castile, Alton Sterling and many more dying at the hands of police brutality in America. Alongside this, the UK was struggling with highest rates of knife crime epidemic, the lack of black people in companies let alone senior positions and an inability to find positive role models Performance based outside of the entertainment industry. From this BYP Network was created to ‘change the black narrative’ by bringing the black professional global community together to solve our own problems through economic empowerment and connectivity. Following recent events, BYP is more relevant than ever and is excellently positioned to bridge the gap between the black professional community and corporations. Today we have over 40,000 members on our network, launched a mobile and web platform, run offline and online events to up-skill the community, have a job board and have worked with 60+ corporate clients including Facebook, Accenture, AirBnb, Nationwide, BT etc. Our vision is to be the go-to platform for black professionals and grow the network to 500,000 members globally in the next 12 months. JOB DESCRIPTION

BYP is seeking an experienced, Corporate Recruiter to join our Recruitment team. The role will require you to support BYP to deliver a robust and diverse recruitment process for our corporate clients. You will be required to work in a very fast paced environment, while building partnerships and liaising with key stakeholders.  

To be successful in this role, you will need an array of personal strengths – business development skills in a business to business environment, candidate profiling skills, business and commercial awareness combined with a strong work ethic, a network of contacts, high drive and energy, capable of working under own initiative, gravitas, presence and excellent communication skills.

You will be sourcing candidates, filtering applications, conducting telephone pre-screenings, forwarding the relevant applicants to Line Managers, arranging interviews with shortlisted candidates and assisting the successful candidate with the client’s onboarding procedure. Where necessary, you will be required to do this for internal BYP Network recruitment and act as the BYP Network Hiring Manager. Experience of shortlisting or shortlisting services is essential for this role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Recruitment services for BYP Network Corporate Clients 

  • Editing job descriptions/specifications where required
  • Managing the initial stages of recruitment process by sourcing candidates (shortlisting)
  • Screening CVs and conduct the telephone pre-screening
  • Conduct video interviews with selected candidates (where applicable)
  • Forward the relevant candidates to the Line Manager or Hiring Manager
  • Arrange interviews between the shortlisted applicants and the Hiring Team 
  • Work closely with hiring managers and the HR Manager to gain a strong understanding of the client and use this knowledge to find the right talent for the organization
  • Support the candidates during the first part of recruitment process in order to promote an excellent candidate experience
  • Provide feedback to unsuccessful candidates
  • Build a pipeline of potential candidates
  • Provide CV and interview skills training and development
  • Support the internal HR department by completing administration duties
  • Act as the Hiring Manager when BYP is recruiting internally

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • L&D knowledge
  • Ability to review and edit job specifications
  • Ability to provide CV and interview skills training and development
  • Experience in candidate shortlisting
  • Articulate, confident and a fluent communicator, demonstrating a high level of both oral and written English
  • A customer orientated approach and focus
  • Experience in conducting different types of job interviews, such as competency-based interviews
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Advanced IT skills (Word processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Internet, MS Outlook)
  • The ability to deliver a great candidate experience
  • Can work autonomously and deliver under pressure
  • Resilient and can work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive and extremely well organized
  • Proven knowledge of recruitment policies and employment law
  • Experience in developing HR systems and processes
  • Business development experience
