Job title: Product Manager

Introduction

This role is the interface between the delivery team and the client/founder. The candidate will be required to wear multiple hats, from project managing the delivery and budget, to product management of the backlog, as well as running the Agile Scrum process.

Thought&Function has a distributed and remote working team (since the pandemic) with the core team in the UK, and developers and designers in Ukraine and South America. What the job involves

  • You will work directly with startup founders to transform their vision into MVPs
  • Managing multiple projects, you will be the main communication point for the client and represent the client as a Product Owner in agile delivery processes
  • You will attend and drive the appropriate agile ceremonies as part of the delivery cycle (Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retro, etc.)
  • You will have hands-on responsibilities, writing use cases and carrying out acceptance testing
  • Taking ownership of the delivery, you will drive the development process, ensuring progress and removal of blockers
  • You will understand and refine sometimes ambiguous requirements to form a solid understanding of client needs and communicate them to the team
  • You will work closely with the client to help prioritise the backlog ensuring we deliver maximum value
  • Where appropriate you will help facilitate product discovery workshops with clients
  • You will keep clients abreast of development progress and carry out demos to share progress
  • You will take organisational ownership of projects, aligning internal resources for delivery and preparing regular project reports

 

Requirements

  • 3 plus years (or equivalent) experience within Product Management (ideally in a startup or agency environment)
  • Experience writing clear feature specifications and user stories
  • Open, collaborative and proven team player with an ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance or support
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to fluently communicate both with clients and engineering teams
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Extremely proficient and demonstrable organisational and time-management skills
  • Good eye for design and UX
  • Able to prioritise effectively and problem solve quickly
  • Demonstrable ability to rapidly gain in-depth knowledge of different domains
  • Proficient with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
  • Familiarity with online task management software such as JIRA or Asana
  • Experience using an online wire-framing tool
  • (Bonus) Multi client / Agency background
