  • About the role:

We are looking for two Flutter developers who are proficient with dart and Flutter UI framework to join our young company and put what you have learned to the ultimate test. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain our existing apps. Unlike other companies, you will be actively involved in the whole SDLC instead of being just another cog in a big machine.

Carryr is a UK-based B2B2C startup and we're on a mission to complete the promise of e-commerce convenience with an end-to-end delivery experience that's fast, frictionless and convenient. Delivery should no longer be an inconvenience, should be on the customers' terms and be available with your favourite retailers – let's make that happen!

This is a six-month, part-time placement (25 hours per week) in line with the government Kickstart Scheme, with the scope to stay on afterwards on a full-time permanent position (with equity, benefits and bonuses). This is a remote/WFH position with flexible hours (we focus on the results), so all UK locations are welcome!

Who you are and what we're looking for:

    • can learn fast and adapt to new situations with just a moments notice in a fast-paced environment

    • are hungry for a career-defining moment and want to make your mark with an early stage, fast-growing startup

    • have good communication skills

    • have a good understanding of deploy pipelines and processes for various mobile platforms

    • know what it means to write maintainable and readable code

    • have a good understanding of usability tests

    • have a good understanding of user-friendly interface design and mobile design in general

    • have experience working with the Agile Methodology

    • Strong skills in Dart & Flutter UI Framework

    • Experience with an understanding of Mobile Application Development Lifecycle

    • Should know any few of the patterns in Bloc, Provider, RxDart/Streams, Mobx or Getx (Bloc is preferable)

    • Familiarity with 3rd party libraries and integrations

    • Experience with version control management tools such as GIT

    • Familiarity with API integrations

    What you'll be doing:

    • Develop new user-facing features using Dart / Flutter framework

    • Building reusable widget components and front-end libraries/packages

    • Maintain existing codebase

    • Translate design and wireframes into high-quality code

    • Optimising widget components for maximum performance across mobile devices

    • Working directly with the CTO and help plan our next phase of technical milestones

    • Working with the founders and teams supporting marketing, sales and operations to build out a detailed product roadmap

    Why Carryr?

    • Instead of simply doing what's been told, you are going to play an active role at each stage of the Software Development Lifecycle

    • We believe that Software Development is an art, and we give you the freedom to craft your masterpiece

    • We're transparent, open to new ideas and love to be challenged

    • We're modernising outdated experiences and views

    • We're at the forefront of retail/e-commerce innovation and tackling the most exciting problems

    • Being early into the team means you get to help shape the culture, with endless opportunities to progress as we scale

    • You'll learn to problem solve and begin to build your own toolkit and approach
