Banana Scoops is a fast-growing FMCG startup making healthy, delicious, and banana-based ice creams. We launched in May 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic. We are now stocked in Ocado, Planet Organic, As Nature Intended as well as a range of independent shops around the country.
We are also a Kickstart Gateway helping small businesses access funding and our founder, Jess Salamanca, is a business coach to female founders.

As part of the Government’s Kickstart scheme, we’re now looking to recruit a passionate & enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Business Admin.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers
- Marketing duties including: graphic design on Canva (for marketing collateral such as social media posts, flyers, etc), customer service over email, keeping our website up to date, organization of virtual documents and folders, etc
- Research projects including PR (journalists, podcasts, publications, etc), stockists for Banana Scoops (healthy shops, restaurants, cafes, delis, etc), potential suppliers, and more
- Set up and run events, both online and in-person (if necessary and safe to do so)
- Data input across various systems to help keep the business organized
- PA duties to CEO Jess Salamanca
- General business administration and support
We are a small brand, so you will be working hand-in-hand with the founder (Jess Salamanca) to help grow the business, increase awareness, and get new listings. You will gain experience working in a small business, wearing lots of different hats, and helping build a brand that is changing the ice cream industry, no two days are the same.
Knowledge of Microsoft, Gmail, and Google Drive
Not scared to get your hands dirty and get involved in multiple projects
Time management and organization
Ideal University degree (but not required)
Ideal Canva skills for graphic design (but not required)

We’re here to ensure you develop soft and hard skills that will help you with your future career.
We will provide high-quality in-house training related to basic work skills as well as skills related to the retail/food industry. Basic work skills will include timekeeping, attendance, motivation, communication, and teamwork.
Working very closely with the founder (Jess), you will learn first-hand about the food/FMCG/retail industry including digital marketing strategy and execution, day-to-day operations, administrative procedures, customer care, sales, etc.
Training will be provided as well as a degree of flexibility to ensure the job description fits the employee's skills and career aspirations.
We might also enroll you in paid training and online courses depending on the skills you already possess and which ones you want to develop the most.
We're also happy to help with interview skills, CV-building, and job hunting for future positions.
The role is remote but ideally you’re based around London (SE17 3JB) as we’re trying to meet in person one day every 2-3 weeks.
National Minimum Wage Based On Age
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 25 per week
