What you’ll be doing

MADE.COM is a company that runs on the quality and availability of its data. Supporting various teams in the business (finance, marketing and logistics to name a few), the Analytics team provides access to operational and digital analytics data that underpins everything we do.

Data is ingested from various sources (such as external APIs, flat files, transactional databases, event databases) and is enriched by the Analytics Team before being stored in a Data Warehouse. The team proposes schema, builds new data sets and generally sanitises and filters the data that will ultimately serve our Business Intelligence platforms where it can be accessed to create reports and gather insight. Our Data Warehouse is also used internally to build predictive models that drive the performance of the business, making our team a critical point of MADE.COM development.

The volume of internal data analysis and insight requests across our business is higher and more varied than it’s ever been. As such we are keen to appoint an experienced Data Analyst to maintain our high standards of data provision.

Our data platform relies on GCP and AWS clouds, where we constantly improve existing processes and toolkits. BigQuery and Airflow are the main engines behind our pipelines that are written in SQL, Python and R.

Finally, but importantly, we're an agile team that works to deliver business value through prioritisation and technical excellence. We're passionate about developing, testing, code reviews, coding standards and learning from each other to guarantee a high level of data availability and quality.

This is your day

  • Provide on-going analytics that delivers insight on customer behaviours
  • Detailed and in-depth analysis of marketing performance
  • Design and build visualization dashboards to empower business teams with actionable insights;
  • Develop advanced metrics and attributes to facilitate insight for specific user requirements;
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, understanding their requirements and communicating clear insight back
  • Conducting statistical and trend analysis to identify business and data improvement opportunities, and recommend actions;
  • Collaborate with Users, Product Owners, Data Scientists and Data Engineers to support their decision-making through data driven insights:
  • Developing and documenting programs, methodologies, and reports for analyzing and presenting data to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Requirements

  • Passionate about solving real life problems with data;

  • Experience in testing hypothesis and causation analysis
  • Experience in providing insight and valuable stories from data;
  • Provide mentoring and impart knowledge to more junior analysts
  • Eager to learn new tools and technologies to improve efficiency of the teams;
  • Team player who can communicate your ideas with the group.
What You’ll Need
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Big Query in particular is highly desirable
  • Advanced knowledge Python, R or a statistical analysis tool
  • Experience working with GCP or AWS
  • Analytical and quantitative skills, proven ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations;
  • Experience in defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights;
  • Excellent communication skills, confident in your dealings with internal stakeholders, who may have varying levels of technical ability;
  • Proven ability in balancing competing priorities, workloads, and tight timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment;
  • Experience with using a reporting tool (Excel, GoodData, PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, etc.);
  • Capable of working autonomously and taking responsibility for owned tasks.
