    We are currently rolling out thousands of these sensors across the UK, and we’re now expanding into traffic signal control. We need a passionate Commercial Manager to help us do it.


    Package: Base £55,000-70,000 with £40k commission / bonus


    About the role

    You will become the face of Vivacity’s Smart Junction solution within local government. Using a balance of consultative and challenger selling capabilities, you will build a network of contacts who trust your expertise and believe in our product, establishing growing relationships which lead initially to pilot projects and then to large-scale rollouts, and developing leading industry figures as advocates for Vivacity Labs. 


    About you

    We are looking for a dynamic, customer-centric and personable individual to join our super friendly team. Sector knowledge, technical understanding and excellent communication skills are key to success in this role. This is a target-led position where targets will be set quarterly, so a go-getter attitude and tenacity are crucial. You will need to be able to work collaboratively and independently to develop relationships with your clients, internal stakeholders and teammates.     Your day to day tasks will include

      • Build a clear market engagement strategy and intelligence library, including strategies for managing competitors and navigating obstacles

      • Engage with the stakeholders and technology partners in the Urban Traffic Control sector to develop a route to market strategy

      • Establish Vivacity Lab’s position as innovators and disruptors in this market and promote our ability to generate huge congestion and emissions improvements

      • Work with the internal technical teams to ensure all progress on product development is understood and can be articulated clearly

      • Source Local Authority opportunities for early adopters to a pilot programme, followed by opportunities for a longer-term large-scale rollout

      • Follow-up leads, qualify, pitch to prospects and establish momentum in a pipeline of opportunities

      • Build business cases for clients and prepare/provide documentation to support procurements, including owning the production of tender responses

      • Work with the Delivery teams to help ensure that opportunities are suitably qualified and that projects are delivered and implemented successfully

      • Provide detailed and up to date reporting on progress against targets

    Requirements for the role

      • 5 years of experience in dealing with local government, or selling into central government

      • 3 years of experience in the transport/traffic or mobility sectors

      • Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets

      • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

      • Strong presentation skills to audiences of all sizes and levels

      • Ability to quickly understand new software solutions and build great relationships with a highly technical audience

      • Demonstrated passion for innovation and for emissions reduction in the transport sector

    The following would be an added bonus

      • Specific experience of the traffic signals ecosystem

      • Experience in selling complex technical products

      • Experience of fast-paced, high-growth start-up environments

      • Understanding of and experience in dealing with complex tender environments.
