About the role

As the People Partner you champion the development, enhancement and success of all Tech Nationers in order to enhance performance and retain our people. You are responsible for all aspects of ‘performance management’ from performance reviews to learning interventions, talent assessment, management development and succession planning. You identify training, learning and knowledge needs and create strategic solutions for improving and sharpening skills across the entire community of Tech Nationers.

The salary we're looking to offer for this role is £55,000 - 60,000.

A Day in the Life of the People Partner might look something like this:

  • Consulting and coaching managers daily on all people-related practices, queries and issues both proactively and as they arise; providing policy and process guidance to our People Champs (the Tech Nation people managers) on all performance management issues, identifying practical solutions that reflect our culture and values

  • Partnering with the People Champs to drive all aspects of performance management; providing regular updates to them based on internal feedback mechanisms and pulse surveys, holding them to account for managing performance . . . .

  • Championing continuous performance management through the use of 15five and feedback, managing the performance review cycle and supporting the OKR framework.

  • Resolving complex employee relations issues by facilitating discussions that address individual needs as well as gaps in how we operate

  • Leading on the identification, implementation and delivery of initiatives and projects across reward, learning and development, diversity and inclusion and performance management

  • Facilitate the pay review and promotion processes; ensure that pay decisions for employees are made based on pay bands when hiring and for internal promotions or any salary movements. Own pay benchmarking.

  • Partnering with People Champs to carry out capability assessments across the business, identify training needs for teams and individuals, designing blended learning solutions using digital tools to create flexible and innovative approaches to learning to drive a culture of continuous improvement. Drive a learning culture that ensures development happens at an appropriate level that meets the current and future needs of Tech Nation

  • Working with leaders to create definitions of talent for different talent categories, creating assessment approaches to identifying talent, devising diverse approaches to talent management, creating and measuring the value of development interventions and monitoring and reporting on all talent initiatives

As part of the People Team you:

  • Embody the values and act as an ambassador for all Tech Nationers

  • Input and shape the key People strategies as well as managing a fast paced, changing environment

  • Work as a team across all areas of the People strategy & plan; picking up and supporting on team projects as needed

  • Take an active role in all aspects of recruitment alongside our recruitment partner, Canda, and other recruiters as appropriate

  • Analyse trends and metrics, taking a data-driven approach to all initiatives

  • Support the business with wider strategic projects as they arise

 

As well as sharing our ambitions and values you will have:

  • Providing advice, guidance and support to managers and team members that is culturally and operationally aligned which support inclusion and diversity goals

  • Managing and prioritising multiple deliverables, projects and workload to match Objectives & Key Results and the day-to-day

  • Practical problem solving of complex HR and people problems

  • Stakeholder consultation and management

  • Knowledge of UK employment law, regulations and trends

  • Experience in a scaling business of a similar size

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, leading on presentations and effective meetings

  • Change management skills and a desire to act as a change champion

  • Meticulous and flexible with an adaptive mindset

  • Organised and methodical, approachable and responsive

  • CIPD qualified
