We're looking for a great Lead Developer to join our growing team. You'll be leading the development function across several product teams that are focused on building new products to educate and enabling individuals. If that sounds like something you'd be excited about, we'd love to talk.
About the role
Engineering at Magnetic Rock is focused on solving hard problems without over-engineering. We work with a range of technology stacks, importantly using the right tool for the job. We are a creating team of industry experts following SOLID principles and focused on the outcomes our products achieve for our users.
In this role, you will work closely with our General Manager and Founders, as we establish the technical function together. You will have the opportunity to work on greenfield products and improve the live products already delivering impact.
Typical activities in your week may include:
Establishing and improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes across product teams.
Working with product teams including Product Managers, Designers and Developers to define product strategy, plus conceptualise and build new features.
Getting your hands dirty and writing excellent clean and testable code and operating in an agile methodology. Leading by example while motivating and managing a development team.
Researching and advising on technology choices and industry best practices.
Interviewing potential new joiners, onboarding new technical hires and defining hiring plans.

You'll have 3+ years experience as a Lead Developer. With a passion for coding and a track record of developing high quality products that have been successful. Plus, a real focus on engineering principles and enjoy staying at the forefront of new technologies.
You'll have a passion for building teams. As we grow rapidly, you will need to instil excellent technical best practices, like peer reviews, and improve the development team.
You'll have a history of delivering high quality products. Working across the business to distil requirements, working with designers, project managers, marketeers and developers to create products that deliver impact.
