    You will work alongside a highly experienced group of industry experts who have built numerous successful ventures from scratch.  We are looking for a talented, motivated and forward thinking Group Head Of Finance to lead and grow the finance team (currently 3). Your experience will be broad and well rounded with a very good grasp of corporate, budgeting, forecasting and regulatory accounting; as well an interest/ability in fund level accounting, modelling and investor reporting. 

    We are a small, ambitious and nimble team who believe in moving fast so you will need to thrive under pressure, love a challenge and want to take the next steps in your finance career, which could either lead to an FD role or who knows, you might even like to run a venture! Reporting to and working very closely with the Head of Strategy, you will in turn work closely with founders and stakeholders to produce key analytical and financial data to assist and to make your own recommendations in the business decision making process.

    This is the perfect role for somebody who loves to be in the thick of it with their sleeves rolled up working on a business model, crunching numbers on how to achieve profitable growth and hitting tight deadlines for month end/reporting. Nothing will faze you!


    Key Responsibilities include: 


    • Manage the day to day accounting function, develop and build the finance team as we scale
    • Financial reporting including; consolidated management accounts, budget vs. actual, statutory accounts. 
    • Analysis & insights - proactive approach to understanding business drivers and how to make improvements - you love numbers and data and can make them talk!
    • Financial Planning and Reporting: Own the business model, budgets and responsible for forecasting and reporting across the various businesses. Develop our forecasting methods to improve business decision making
    • Credit control ownership: ensure all invoices are paid on time ensuring automated emails and escalations to calls are timely
    • Cashflow: Understand that cash is king! Manage payments and cash flow forecasting across the group to optimise and meet regularly with relevant management to discuss this
    • Liaise with a variety of funding providers and be comfortable preparing/discussing/submitting information and questions arising
    • Take ownership of corporate housekeeping including shareholding docs and things like SEIS/EIS and EMI share option schemes
    • Investigate and understand variances in budgets, forecast and produce revenue forecasting with management
    • Providing unprompted insights to leadership teams and proactively understanding the respective businesses with a view to providing data/financial based advice and input

    Experience and skills required: 


    • Degree in Accounting or Business (or equivalent qualification)
    • Qualified (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
    • Experience in a PE or VC firm or alternatively have experience in Start-Up to Scale-Up’s
    • Computer literate with exceptional proficiency in MS Excel & Google Suite
    • Use of and very good knowledge of Xero Accounting software 
    • Pro-active & naturally takes the lead
    • Financial modelling experience, ability to build top notch financial decks internal & external
    • Comfortable sourcing and interacting with Suppliers & 3rd parties, eg sources of funding 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with clear and succinct communication both written and oral
    • Exemplary math skills
    • Extremely well-organised with (an almost!) obsessive attention to detail and high level of accuracy
    • Approachable with a ‘can do’ attitude and flexible approach 
    • Strong time management skills for self and team
    • An excellent coach and team mentor
