Head of Design & Brand at Chip

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Design and Brand to take over Chip’s branding, design teams and in-app design. This is a big role with big responsibility. Currently Chip’s design team consists of 5 incredible designers spread across product design and brand. You’ll be managing this team and steering the direction of Chip’s visual identity. Half of this role will be managing the brand and half will be managing the visual side of the product. The role will be reporting directly into the CMO but work closely cross functionally especially with the product team.

What you can expect to be doing: 

  • Managing the design and content team (2 product designers, 3 brand designers and content manager) 
  • Overseeing the Chip brand and taking ownership of all content creation, narrative and storytelling.
  • Owning design, UX and UI within the product itself and working closely with the product team to execute on the roadmap.
  • Working with the product team to create a seamless in app user experience.
  • Working with the content and design team to deliver amazing video, image and written content that sells Chip in a consistent, relevant and provocative way.

What we’re looking for: 

  • You have serious experience of either brand creation, or visual design (or ideally both). This experience can either be in house or agency side.
  • You’re an experienced people manager and can slot into managing an amazing team.
  • You have experience delivering campaigns across multiple platforms and understanding the process that is needed to make that happen.
  • Understanding of how to track performance of creative and monitor ROI.
  • Expert knowledge of UX/UI design and the process of validating product decisions.
  • Top level technical understanding of app UI, mobile design practices and app user flows.
  • Understanding of how to leverage data to test ideas and get results quickly.

  • £65,000 - £75,000 per annum dependant on experience
  • Discretionary share option bonus every 6 months
