    Our Service

    Hello Lamp Post is a unique chat-based platform that can give a “voice” to any kind of place, space or street object. Users are invited to strike up chats with objects powered by our custom-made conversational AI via SMS, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp on their mobile devices.

    The objects that people talk to are friendly and inquisitive. They can share helpful information, like bus times and parking instructions, as well as ask interesting questions and share what other people have said. Our backend aggregates the opinions that users have shared, and we turn these into insights for decision makers. 

    Our Story So Far

    Hello Lamp Post has been growing rapidly since we incorporated in 2018. So far this year over 20 new clients have subscribed to our services and our team has doubled in size. Hello Lamp Post is being used in places around the world including Westminster Council, MediaCity, The London Olympic Park, Vancouver, Sydney and more. 

    Job Summary

    Key responsibilities

    • Undertake research and generate prospects for potential new client opportunities.
    • Develop our pipeline for new business and build coverage of monthly/annual targets.
    • Carry out outreach, including sales presentations, written proposals, strategic cold call prospecting, in person and online meetings, sales follow ups and quickly scope statements of work for clients.
    • Follow-up on in-bound prospects and targeted marketing campaigns.
    • Build and strengthen customer relationships in the public sector; increase awareness of Hello Lamp Post offerings.
    • Maintain records of prospects and customer interactions within CRM.
    • Carry out customer conversion process with successful handovers to customer success team.
    • Report weekly on the sales pipeline (to Senior Sales Manager & CEO).
    • Coordinate with marketing to execute strategic, targeted prospect marketing campaigns using email, direct mail and phone calls.
    • Help to design new strategic partnerships.
    • Contribute to the marketing editorial calendar with key messaging and prospect insights.
    • Feedback and help shape our product roadmap going forward.
    • Clearly and concisely articulate the Hello Lamp Post mission and how our solutions deliver it.


    Experience / What we’re looking for

    • Preference on a network and track record of engaging with UK local authorities, though we’re also open to graduate applications
    • Success in prospect generation and growing pipelines.
    • Understanding of data privacy regulations, including GDPR.
    • Understanding of differing sales approaches and techniques e.g. challenger selling
    • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills for relationship building.
    • Understanding of the importance of communities in local decision making.
    • Ability to prioritise, organise, plan and coordinate activities/time with minimal direction.
    • A passion for using technology for good in society.
    • Ability to work in an autonomous environment, and alongside marketing teams.

    • Number of client meetings – target in key accounts per quarter.
    • Growth in prospect numbers and pipeline value against targets.
