Senior 3D Games Artist & Animator at Night Zookeeper

Do you love games and are you an expert in 3D art and animation? 

As a Senior 3D Games Artist and Animator you will be taking on a role with plenty of creative control and the opportunity to join an exciting new games studio in London. 

You will be working with a Senior Unity Developer, along with a game designer, game artists and junior programmers to solve challenges involved with the development process of a high-quality cross-platform game. As a part of the studio you will be given the option to work remotely three days per week, so this role is ideal for someone looking for flexibility.

This studio is part of an education company that is building a Children’s brand to excite and motivate young learners. It is made up of individuals with a passion for creating the best quality kids media out there, that celebrates their innate creativity and allows them to express themselves through digital media. They continuously use player feedback to improve games – so if you want to work somewhere that is constantly striving for more success, this could be the perfect opening for you. Artist responsibilities:

You will use your artistic judgement to produce high quality character and location art for the game with excellent textures.

In some cases, you will follow existing detailed concept art, in other cases you will create characters from scratch that match the general art direction.

You will work closely with artistic leadership to create memorable characters, props and locations.

Ensure that the technical implementation of character assets matches the project's style guide.

You will create or select suitable animations for the assets you create.

Ideally you will bring experience in shading to really bring the game visuals to life.

Essential requirements for this role:

Expert knowledge of industry standard software such as Maya, Photoshop, zBrush and Substance Painter.

Experience with source control and issue tracking (Jira or equivalent)

Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and communicate well.

An exceptional eye for detail and quality, with a deep understanding of the game development cycle.

Advanced knowledge of Unity.

Excellent 3D modelling and animation skills.

Significant experience in creating 3D assets for mobile games.

Developed 2+ titles from start to completion.

Passionate about creating mobile games.

Nice to have requirements for this role:

Experience in upgrading 3D assets for a console game.

Deep understanding of shading within Unity to give the game a striking visual look.
