    The Future Fox is a social impact technology start-up with a mission to help people lead the future of their cities and places. Our SaaS engagement platform and analytics solution, PlaceBuilder, helps Government and urban planners collaborate with communities on ambitious planning decisions. Since we launched our MVP in 2019,  our clients already include HM Government, Scottish Government, Devon County Council, Lewisham Council and more, on major, local, innovative and controversial built environment projects. We consistently get excellent feedback from our customers on our product and service.

     

    Product development has been founder-led to this point, and we now need a Product Owner to take charge as we're growing. You’ll be motivated by our mission and our product, have proven technical competency and imagination, and have experience in supporting business decisions.

    What you’ll do:

    1. Lead the remote development and data team
    2. Work closely with the senior team and clients to understand business requirements and translate these onto our roadmap, owning the roadmap
    3. Plan and document detailed technical specifications for the development and data team
    4. Plan and lead sprints to cover design, development, coding, technical testing and debugging
    5. Implement our software quality assurance process, including testing features against the specs as well as ensuring others fulfil their duties
    6. Clearly communicate results, concepts and progress to technical and non-technical team members and clients 

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Proven achievements in software development, data science or technical product management, with over 3 years experience 
    • Experience working on custom web application development and data visualisations
    • Knowledge of full stack programming, across a range of various scripting languages (eg php, Python, R, etc.) as well as database management systems and web servers
    • Strong data analysis skills, ie statistics, graphs, geospatial data, and machine learning outputs/concepts
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including around technical concepts and data that are relevant to the business and our clients’ problems
    • Proven success planning and delivering on time and budget
    • Experience working within an agile framework with a mission-driven team 
    • Active team player, self-starter, and multitasker who can quickly adjust priorities
    • Experience leading, supporting and motivating others
    • Track record of taking  features from user story to release

    Preferred Qualifications/Experience

    • Experience in a successful start-up 
    • Experience in building a SaaS platform 
    • Experience working with Natural language processing and machine learning features
    • Experience creating concept and detailed prototypes
    • Adept working with remote/distributed teams, and using collaboration tolls like Jira
    • Proven success as a technical team leader

    45-65k inc equity 0.5-2%
