Mid-Weight Graphic Designer at JustWears

JustWears is a fast-growing direct to consumer brand on a mission to reinvent men’s basics. We’ve taken men’s underwear by the balls using high performance, sustainably-sourced fabrics and ergonomic designs. After becoming the most backed apparel project in the UK on Kickstarter and appearing on BBC Dragons’ Den, we have shipped almost half million pairs of our game-changing underwear to more than 70 countries.

We are looking for someone hungry, creative, funny and ready to help bring our brand to life! This role is for an in-house Designer who is looking to evolve with the role as it could become our Lead Designer, potentially art directing and overviewing the whole JustWears brand.

Note: We are ideally looking for someone who is aiming for a permanent in-house role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • You will come on board to help shape the visual identity of a dynamic new lifestyle brand devoted to self-expression.
  • You will help guarding out existing brand framework by designing for consistency and maintaining our style guide in every piece of your work
  • You will work on a variety of projects for online and offline that will meet the ever-evolving needs of the business. Including but not limited to: marketing campaigns (inc: emails, social media, website) onsite, content experiences, special campaigns or projects that require an editorial focus, email, social, still life and second tier art direction, events, communication internally or with agencies, and other digital branding initiatives etc.
  • Other design projects could be: Gift packages, gift cards and personalized products
  • You will ensure that image quality is at its highest while meeting standard web design requirements. Ensure all images are optimized for all devices. Retouching images as required.
  • You will conceptualize and create mood boards for seasonable photoshoots, work closely with the photographers team on site and deliver graphic images that meet the marketing objectives.

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have a minimum of 4 years experience in a consumer-driven ecommerce/retail environment
  • You have experience working on branding, and ideally have created whole brand kits inclusive of colour palettes, tone of voice and logos for similar brands to JustWears
  • You have an extremely good eye for detail and it drives you 'nuts' (pun intended) if something is not aligned!
  • Your main design skills sit within illustration, motion design and ideally you're also great at gif & video creation as well as photography and photo retouching
  • Your designs often make people smile! Overall you have a colourful, happy and positive approach to your creative work
  • You are a self starter with exceptional communication skills and striving for being a creative problem solver
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and even a bit of chaos - We are a start up so sometimes things may not always go as planned.
