About the Job
OneCommerce is looking for a full-time Chief Operating Officer with an extensive experience in operations and finance, more specifically in the direct-to-consumer and e-commerce sectors.
OneCommerce builds, operates and scales proprietary direct to consumer brands in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle-East and Africa). We are fully integrated with manufacturing and typically own a dedicated production line at each manufacturing partners we use.
The Ideal Candidate
- You have worked for a D2C brand at the €3m-€5m annual sales mark and went through the growth phase to ~€25m-€100m annual sales or beyond.
- You have experienced numerous failed internal projects.
- You have 5-7+ years of first-hand exposure to the operations of a D2C brand and have a strong understanding of the following:
- Orders Management
- Shopify
- Amazon Seller Central
- 3PL platforms
- Inventory & Cashflow Management
- Monitoring inventory levels for each channel and products
- Organizing & maintaining a supply calendar that span up to 12 months
- Bookkeeping
- Xero / Excel
- Creating monthly consolidated accounts
- Annual accounts & tax filing UK & US
- Liaising with relevant accounting firms / tax advisors
- Quarterly VAT filings
- Monthly HMRC Payments, Salary Payments
- Administration
- Manage utilities, Council, general office expenses (water, Ocado, etc.)
- Ensure we have adequate insurance, make sure we follow health & safety rules
- Act as secretary to the Board
- HR
- Employment onboarding, including contracts
- Managing employment processes such as terminations, warnings and being the "independent" person in those processes.
- Production Management
- Raw material sourcing; liaising with local people who do raw material sourcing,
- Production planning
- Quality control (of raw materials and finished product)
- Logistic (national & cross-border)
- Import duties
- Cross-border VAT
- Free trade treaties/agreements
- Insurance / Shipping management
- Orders Management
- You have strong interpersonal skills, have the ability to manage complex human situations in various culturally different countries, under pressure, whether with team members or counterparties/partner companies.

- Experience liaising with local & foreign legal counsel, limiting legal billables through internalisation
- You have experience dealing with Board of Directors, liaising with equity investors, organizing fundraising rounds
- You have experience dealing with Debt (traditional or alternative lending strategies)
- You are fluent in French or Arabic
- You are familiar with SEO
- You are familiar with Paid Social / Paid Search (Meta, TikTok, Adwords)
- You know a programming language
- You have had exposure to database systems (MySQL, MongoDB)
- Experience with Business Intelligence, dealing with Tableau, Google Data Studio, Funnel.io
