Location - working in the office (London W2) or at our camp locations (London W11)

Intro

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised  and tech-savvy individual to join our team and experience working in a fast-growing and ever-adapting EdTech company. We run around 50 coding and robotics after-school clubs every week and we need someone to make sure all our clubs are fulfilled with the resources and equipment they need.

Due to the nature of our work, we are looking for someone who can come to our office based in West London Monday to Friday for 2-3 hours per day in the afternoons. Hours negotiable.

A little bit about BlueShift Education

We are the premier go-to resource for London schools and parents, providing coding clubs, camps and onlines classes for creative and curious children aged 5 to 14. Our mission: empowering students with the tools of technology to become “makers” wherever their imagination takes them now and spark an understanding of how they can shape their future world.

We are a young, dynamic company based in West London. We have a dedicated community of 35+ computing teachers that we connect to parents, schools and children.

About the position

BlueShift Education is growing fast, and we need an organised and tech-savvy individual to assist our Operations team in managing our kit room.

We run around 50 after-school clubs every week during term time, as well as holiday camps during the school holidays, and we need someone to look after our kit room, making sure it is organised, with all equipment (STEM robotics, LEGO kits, tablets, laptops, etc) charged and prepared to be collected by our teaching team. You’ll need to keep track of any missing parts or broken equipment, and make sure the correct software is installed.

You’ll also need to ensure the equipment is brought back, sorted out and packed for our holiday camps that run every school holiday.

In addition to managing our kit room, you’ll also need to ensure that our office space is organised and office supplies are ordered. During quieter times, you’ll also assist our operations team with administrative and operations tasks such as helping prepare for our camps and online classes, managing booking forms and registers, etc.

You’ll also have an option to extend your hours up to 35 per week during holiday times if you choose, and assist with holiday camp operations.

Work pattern

You will need to work around 2-3 hours per day in the afternoons Monday-Friday, usually around 1.30 - 4pm. There is some flexibility with your hours as long as you ensure the required equipment is charged, organised and collected by the teachers before our after-school clubs start (teachers usually collect equipment between 2.30 - 4pm).

During busy periods such as the first couple of weeks of term, there is a possibility to increase work hours subject to your availability.

During holiday times, this position can become full-time subject to your availability.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Organised, able to efficiently handle many pieces of equipment;
  • Tech-savvy, understanding how technology works;
  • Able to multitask and quickly deal with issues;
  • Bonus: Experience using STEM equipment or working in a similar role.
  • Understanding that this is a fast-paced start-up environment and your responsibilities might change depending on the situation.

Benefits:

  • Fantastic experience working in an exciting, fast-growing, ed-tech start-up!
  • Flexible working opportunities
  • Team socials
  • Opportunity to gain experience in other areas of the business and career development.
