About the position
BlueShift Education is growing fast, and we need an organised and tech-savvy individual to assist our Operations team in managing our kit room.
We run around 50 after-school clubs every week during term time, as well as holiday camps during the school holidays, and we need someone to look after our kit room, making sure it is organised, with all equipment (STEM robotics, LEGO kits, tablets, laptops, etc) charged and prepared to be collected by our teaching team. You’ll need to keep track of any missing parts or broken equipment, and make sure the correct software is installed.
You’ll also need to ensure the equipment is brought back, sorted out and packed for our holiday camps that run every school holiday.
In addition to managing our kit room, you’ll also need to ensure that our office space is organised and office supplies are ordered. During quieter times, you’ll also assist our operations team with administrative and operations tasks such as helping prepare for our camps and online classes, managing booking forms and registers, etc.
You’ll also have an option to extend your hours up to 35 per week during holiday times if you choose, and assist with holiday camp operations.
You will need to work around 2-3 hours per day in the afternoons Monday-Friday, usually around 1.30 - 4pm. There is some flexibility with your hours as long as you ensure the required equipment is charged, organised and collected by the teachers before our after-school clubs start (teachers usually collect equipment between 2.30 - 4pm).
During busy periods such as the first couple of weeks of term, there is a possibility to increase work hours subject to your availability.
During holiday times, this position can become full-time subject to your availability.
The ideal candidate is:
- Organised, able to efficiently handle many pieces of equipment;
- Tech-savvy, understanding how technology works;
- Able to multitask and quickly deal with issues;
- Bonus: Experience using STEM equipment or working in a similar role.
- Understanding that this is a fast-paced start-up environment and your responsibilities might change depending on the situation.
- Fantastic experience working in an exciting, fast-growing, ed-tech start-up!
- Flexible working opportunities
- Team socials
- Opportunity to gain experience in other areas of the business and career development.
Please send us a CV and cover letter telling us why you’d be a great fit for this role!
