We are looking for an excellent IT generalist to help us scale our internal technology and security offering to a set of forward thinking, technology focused businesses. We have started to establish a clear set of processes and practices, however due to rapid growth we are now looking for an experienced and passionate IT manager to develop these and guide us through this exciting period.

You’ll be employed by Helical Levity, but your responsibilities will span our collection of four companies, all founded by James Lyne. These are Spinning Fox Ltd, Magnetic Rock Ltd and Secure Impact Ltd. You’ll report in to our Director of Executive Operations and work with them to identify areas to develop, improve and innovate within the technology and security space. Although all companies are stand alone entities with their own missions, culture and products, the operational processes and practices are echoed throughout which allow us to work efficiently between them.

Our workforce is split between remote and office based employees, however as this role will require some on-site physical operations, you will be required to be either office based or part-office based.

Key Responsibilities

  • You’ll manage the Office 365 administration - you’ll be tasked with monitoring, maintaining and developing the IT and Security capabilities within Microsoft O365.

  • InTune administration and endpoint deployment - you’ll be required to manage, configure and deploy InTune policies for endpoints.

  • Alert monitoring, remediation and escalation - you will monitor event logs in Microsoft Endpoint Security, investigating and escalating where necessary.

  • Develop, implement and update IT policies - you’ll take into account key stakeholders and management when implementing a variety of policies.

  • Network configuration - you’ll be responsible for configuring and maintaining network hardware and software, both on and off site.

  • Hardware, software and domain name inventory management - you’ll manage the company assets, both from a tracking and provisioning point of view.

  • IT onboarding service to employees - you’ll be responsible for the provisioning of hardware and software, and running new employees through an induction which will teach them security basics that they should follow.

  • Industry recognised certifications - you’ll lead application processes to achieve certifications such as CyberEssentials, or ISO9001.

  • Support staff with technical issues - you’ll assist employees with troubleshooting issues with hardware and software, and resolving them directly or with the support of the manufacturers.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • You’ll ideally have a passion for IT and cyber security - being security conscious will be second nature to you. Each process and practice undertaken will have that at the forefront of your decision making. Your passion will highlight the importance of security to each employee.

  • You’ll have at least 1 years experience using InTune - you’ll have good working knowledge of InTune and configuration of policies.

  • You’ll be proficient with using both Windows and Mac equipment - you’ll have extensive experience using and configuring Mac and Windows computers.

  • You’ll ideally have previous experience with physical networking - you’ll be responsible for the upkeep, configuration and re-configuration of our office infrastructure, so prior experience in this area would be beneficial.

  • You’ll be keen to continue to learn, develop and up-skill in the IT and cyber security space - due to the nature of the businesses that are in our network, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow. This could include achieving industry recognised qualifications or promotions within the collection of companies as you up-skill.

  • Enhanced DBS check - due to the nature of aspects of your work, you will be required to pass an enhanced DBS check.

Our mission, culture and the work itself all make for a great working environment. However, it's crucial to us that our employees feel valued and supported, so we have put a lot of thought into ensuring your job is that bit sweeter. Some of our benefits include:

  • Fantastic training and development opportunities. We love helping our employees up-skill and develop themselves, so we're committed to funding training and development opportunities. We've helped employees complete CIPD, Shillington and SANS courses, to name a few.

  • Generous holiday. We offer 28 days plus Bank Holidays per year, with a Christmas shut down.

  • Great equipment and software. All team members use high spec equipment, and the latest software to make working enjoyable and easy. Plus, we can kit you out with any peripherals you may need.

  • Flexible & remote working options. We were operating as a remote business long before covid, so we're well accustomed to working this way. We also have an amazing office in the Cotswolds with an on-site gym, fully stocked drinks fridge, and all the snacks. A few of our roles are based here, but either are an option.

  • Private healthcare. We offer Vitality health insurance, which offers perks such as free cinema tickets, discounted fitness trackers and discounted gym memberships.

  • Referral programme. If you introduce us to an amazing person who joins us then we'll pay you £1,000 to say thank you.

  • Regular team get togethers. We've escaped from zombies and swung through trees, hosted Dungeons and Dragon nights, LAN parties and creative evenings. There's something for everyone.

  • A bigger team. We're part of a collection of companies (including Spinning Fox, Magnetic Rock and Secure Impact) which are run by the same leadership team. There are lots of opportunities for shared learning, and some epic summer parties.
