We are looking for a compliance/MLRO professional to join our startup within the UK open banking industry. Any experience within the payments sector would be an advantage.
A little bit about our product - we started an open banking payments processing business about 1.5 years ago. We already have a working MVP and can process payments in an FCA sandbox environment. At the moment, we are working with consultants on building our application for FCA authorisation (as an "authorised payments institution, PIS, PSD2"). Our total capital commitments are ~£80k so far.
Some info on the industry - open banking is poised to improve finance worldwide, and we can already see signs of this in the monthly open banking API access in the UK. We are at the forefront of a revolution, which will make all sectors of finance more efficient and cheaper to use. By opening access to large banks' data, third party developers can bring all kinds of improvements to all sectors of finance (not only banking but payments, wealth management, personal finance etc.). The UK and Europe are the first movers in opening bank data to third parties, but the US and other countries are also exploring the idea, so being in this space in the next 2-5 years will bring all kinds of opportunities.
At the moment our product is not operational and we can only offer equity, however, initially, we expect that this will take up very little of your time as the primary concern at the moment is having somebody on the team the FCA will approve of with relevant experience, when the time comes that there are more responsibilities we expect to be able to have a much more interesting conversation about compensation
