    Dama Health is on a mission to personalise female health, starting with contraception. Our vision is to advance the field of female reproductive health with data-driven science and technology. Our first products are a digital personalisation engine that recommends contraception types and brands based on our proprietary algorithm and a genetic test that can identify a woman's specific risks and predispositions.

     

    We are looking to expand our team, specifically looking for a Data Scientist who is passionate about the future of women's health and who wants to be part of shaping our tech & data collection strategy. This role would suit Data or Machine Learning Scientists with prior experience in deploying models to production who are looking for the next step in their career to lead the growing tech and data team.

     

    About the role

    In this position, you will:

    • Work closely with the founders to develop tech and data strategy as well as grow the tech team
    • To start with, the role will be a hands-on data science role: playing a leading role in defining the technical roadmap and our data collection strategy; developing & testing the personalisation algorithm, and working with clinical data; deployment of algorithms into production.
    • As our technical lead, you will be overseeing our technical stack and the software team.
    • Continuously evaluate and use the most appropriate technical solutions, always aiming for high quality, scalability and security.
    • With time, design and implement machine learning algorithms for regression and classification tasks.
    • Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors

    About you

    The ideal candidate for this position has hands-on experience developing health-related algorithms or working with clinical/medical datasets.

    • Degree in data science/computer science or related field
    • 2+ years' prior industry-related experience - hands-on in data science
    • Proficient in Python and machine learning libraries (SciKit-learn, SciPy, NumPy, Pandas)
    • Experience in handling data scarcity
    • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud) - nice to have
    • Experience in data engineering / AI / ML/ bioinformatics/ working with large datasets - nice to have
    • Enthusiasm for building start-ups, proactiveness and eagerness to take responsibility and initiative
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proactive and excited to work in a fast-paced and cross-functional startup environment.
