Community & Content Lead at MANUAL

    We’re searching for an experienced and skilled Community & Content Lead, reporting to the VP Marketing, as part of our London (UK) based marketing team.

    You’ll be responsible for building, developing and leading our content and community strategy, and hold responsibility for bringing the Manual brand to life through top-class community engagement and eye-catching content creation. We believe that we can better realise our vision by bringing men together to tackle the challenges they all experience when it comes to their health. 

    A storyteller at heart, you'll feel right at home in this role if you can define a community and content strategy that is designed to inspire people to come together, to share and to support each other. You’ll achieve this by collaborating with in-house teams and external partners to craft compelling content, and by creating the community platform needed to amplify the value of what’s created. 

    Responsibilities include:

    • Devise and develop our community strategy to engage with our existing customers and broader audience, ultimately building trust, increasing awareness, and generating loyalty and advocacy for the brand

    • Liaising with stakeholders around the business, form the global content marketing strategy to support our commercial and brand objectives

    • Work with the Brand Marketing Lead to ensure our community and content initiatives are integrated into brand, category and product marketing campaigns and calendars

    • Partnering with the Brand Marketing Lead, align content and community efforts with other communication opportunities to amplify results

    • Supported by our Creative Director, build briefing and concepting workflows for the timely creation of on brand assets (at scale)

    • Together with our Medical Director and Regulatory team, ensure that all the content we create, and engagement amongst our community meets any and all industry compliance standards and guidelines

    • Devise and evolve methodologies for tracking and reporting on content, social media and community initiatives against defined KPIs

    • Effectively manage day-to-day relationships with freelancers and agencies

    • Keep up to date with social media, community building and content best practices; taking a test and learn approach to different and new ideas

    • As we scale, recruit, coach and develop an in-house team of community and content specialist



    We are looking for someone with:

    • 5+ years of social media or community building experience

    • 5+ years of content, editorial or journalism experience, ideally with a background in an in-house ecommerce business

    • Demonstrable ability to hire, manage and motivate high performing teams

    • Proven experience building content marketing and community initiatives at well-known consumer brands

    • A track record of delivering scalable content and social campaigns across

    • Knowledge of content marketing and social media analytics and how to interpret them to transform results into actionable insights and actions

    • You understand how SEO works and have a working knowledge of HTML and content management systems.

    • Previous healthcare industry experience is a plus, and any experience creating content within a ‘compliance’ industry would be beneficial too

    • Prior experience working with cross-functional, remote or international teams in a startup/scale-up or high-growth business exposure
