Engineering Manager at CitizenLab
As the first engineering manager at CitizenLab, you take ownership over the people & process side of the engineering team. You lead the scaling of the team, hiring 20+ developers in the coming 2 years, and enabling them for growth, well-being, and productivity. The focus is on people, in particular on the individual contributors across our development squads for whom you’ll be the direct manager. With your technical background and experience, you act as a mentor and advisor on complicated problems. You closely collaborate with the CTO.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Optimise the well-being and productivity of the engineering team
- Facilitate personal growth for the engineers and make growth paths transparent
- Lead our engineering hiring efforts, streamline our approach and process to attract the best talent
- Optimise the onboarding experience for new engineers
- Create clear documentation structures to maximise self-learning and efficiency
- Improve our development processes and create an optimal developer experience
- Apply your broader technical expertise to pair with colleagues, coach, and be a sounding board on challenging projects
At CitizenLab, we work in small teams where members collectively take ownership of the outcome of the features they build. We work in very small iterations and release continuously. We’re strong believers in user testing and understanding live product usage.
