  •'s team, Hiring Solutions, is looking on behalf of a client that operates in the Biotechnology Research sector, for a practical and hands-on Electrical Field Engineer (UK based).

    Moreover the person in this role will be responsible for traveling to a growing fleet of mini-farms nationwide. He/She will be in charge of maintaining, servicing and providing operational support to the farmers and operations team, whilst feeding back to the central engineering team to inform product improvements.

    Job description

    • Provision of technical support to installations, both in-person and remotely
    • Performance of corrective and preventative maintenance taking learnings from interventions to improve the deployed systems
    • Work closely with the engineering team to develop product improvements and increase fleet reliability
    • Liaison with customers to ensure any concerns, issues and defects are addressed to their satisfaction
    • Commissioning of new systems



    • NVQ Level 3 or above in an Electrical Engineering qualification
    • Minimum 3 years experience in a plant, process or manufacturing setting with strong problem-solving skills
    • Strong understanding of H&S principles in carrying out work, such as safe isolation of equipment
    • Ability to carry out wiring and re-wiring of low voltage (24V), single and three phase systems
    • Ability to review and interpret mechanical and electrical technical drawings and schematics
    • Ability to conduct electrical safety testing and record the results
    • Strong practical skillset, ability to get hands-on with the equipment
    • Ability to take initiative and work independently with limited supervision
    • Qualification to electrical standards 17th/18th edition


    Desirable traits

    • Experience working with conveyor systems, rotating equipment, screw augers, heaters, pneumatics, robotics, and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems
    • Experience with electrical panel building and wiring
    • Experience working with sensors and process instrumentation
    • Experience with maintaining, disassembling and re-assembling rotating equipment (e.g. pumps) and drives(e.g. motors)
    • Ability to maintain, disassemble and reassemble pipework installations including PVC, stainless steel and hoses
