We are Virtual Internships, an EdTech startup on a mission to bridge the gap between education and the workplace by making internships accessible to all.
Over the last four years, we’ve established partnerships with 12,000+ companies, 100+ universities, and supported thousands of students and graduates in becoming more employable via our online work experience product.
We are a team of 130+ across 25+ countries, backed by some of the world’s top investors. We recently secured our Series A funding from investors such as Hambro Perks, Sequoia Capital, Kaplan, Arsenal Growth, and Ascend Vietnam Ventures who have collectively guided the likes of Google, Linkedin, WhatsApp, Canva, Udemy, and Applyboard.

Are you an enthusiastic, charismatic storyteller who loves to engage people and develop inventive ways to share content? Do you also class yourself as a problem solver, looking for the best ways to work towards efficiency and structure? And finally, are you up for a challenge? Then, you could be our next Alumni Engagement Specialist.
We’re looking for someone who’s process-driven, a fantastic project manager, and willing to build out a new Alumni Community from the ground up. You will need to engage with our Gen-Z alumni to draw out not just a testimonial, but the best stories, at scale, and build the guidebook which helps the entire team do the same.
You won’t want to stop there; you will find, manage, and develop the best ways to articulate stories through a range of formats (video, case studies, social media content, and more) coordinating internally to get results. Navigating data collected from the academic teams, you will easily be able to identify opportunities to maximise engagement. Even your friends know you don’t shy away from spreadsheets, you’re very organized, and love to find ways to make life more simple. In return, you’ll be working with a passionate team focused on driving the growth of a leading scale-up in the education space.
What You Will Do
Build a scalable alumni engagement engine through constant iteration and experimentation.
Create internal guides and processes, that maximise the reach and engagement of alumni across various partners, programs, mediums, and creates evergreen, and/or repuposeable content.
Create brand new content yourself, using the amazing feedback from our alumni, and creating stories that illicit emotions with new audiences.
Address pertinent themes for University partnerships using alumni outcomes in a range of mediums, i.e. video, blogs, white papers, case studies, etc.
Project manage the creation of partner alumni assets, using storyboarding and video production knowledge to ensure that assets maximise repeat business, and an uplift in participants.
Build our testimonial database, ‘geeking’ out on ways to optimize, automate, and allow teams to find exactly what they’re looking for in line with outcomes.
Become the the gate keeper to alumni asset banks, categorising by themes, identifying gaps, and ensuring regular updates are carried out.
Work with the Employability Manager to develop and engage an alumni community network that relies on us for the future transition to meaningful employment.
