    As we expand the business and the team we have a great opportunity for a Senior Scientist - Sensors  to join the expert team working across client projects. As a product agnostic organisation with some of the best laboratory & testing facilities in the UK you will work across diverse projects and with some world-renowned organisations.

    About  Us: 
    Malvern Optical is a research and development provider primarily in the electro-optic (UV to far-Infrared) and electro-magnetic (radio-frequency) systems domains. We have one of the best lab & testing facilities in the UK within a real-world product agnostic environment.  We provide innovative solutions to meet often complex Customer requirements. 

    The Company also provides electro-magnetic measurement services, electro-optical materials and sensors assessment and evaluation at laboratory and platform scale. The outputs of these activities can be UKAS accredited and conform to particular defence standards, as required. This offers a truly independent and impartial assessment for our Customers.

    We also offer independent technical advice and consultancy, collaboratively providing professional support. This can be on an ad-hoc basis or fully integrated into a Customer's delivery team. 

    Why would you like this role:

    • You have worked hard to gain a relevant qualification in a physics or chemistry-based subject that you are passionate about.
    • You will bring experience in a commercial setting with a strong theoretical understanding of the electro-magnetic spectrum (from ultraviolet to the far infrared).
    • You are excited to be part of a world-renowned team carrying out the development and evaluation of electro-optical sensor systems, both lab and field based

    NB: Due to the nature of our business candidates must be eligible to obtain a full security clearance at the point of recruitment. (Associated costs will be covered by Malvern Optical)
