The project

We are Altereat, a recipe app focussed on customisability and sustainability.

Traditional recipes are linear and rigid, with little possibility for customisation. At the same time, there are significant barriers to eating sustainably, even though most people are concerned about climate change and many would like to make alterations to their diet to eat in a more sustainable manner.

We will address both these issues by providing users with the ability to fully customise recipes in a manner not yet seen in the market, and will give them the information required to make their own sustainable choices. We will also utilise choice archicture to achieve that objective.

The role

We are looking for a developer to join a team currently consisting of two founders to lead on technical development and strategy. Initially this role will require developing the proof of concept, before managing the development and production of the launch version. Equity on offer and - following funding - a salary as well.

Otherwise:

• fully remote role, though must be based in the UK or Europe
• strong technical skillset required, in particular in mobile app development with relevant programming languages
• preference for an individual with experience delivering on mobile app development projects
• an understanding of the non-technical aspects of a start-up also helpful
