Hello, is it you we're looking for?

Appt’s small, dynamic team are looking for a Marketing Lead to help us achieve our goal of revolutionising preventive healthcare in the NHS. We are looking for someone socially minded and ambitious – someone who can hit the ground running. You will be working closely with Appt’s founder and CEO on a day-to-day basis to grow awareness in the market of Appt's good work!

 

Do you want to solve hard problems and have social impact?

Appt is a social enterprise (that means we measure and value social impact as well as profits) that has been working in some of the most deprived parts of East London over the last four years to tackle health inequality (the idea that those from the lowest income backgrounds are most likely to suffer the negative effects of ill-health).

We have, 3x, been recognised by the UK government for our work and we have been funded by the UK’s research and development investment arm, Innovate UK (>£1m of innovation funding). We plan to raise a further seed round in 2023.  

We are now in the early stages of scaling across the country. We’ve already solved some of the major challenges for a health technology start-up working with the NHS: we have integrated our full workflow into NHS IT systems (making use of three separate NHS Digital APIs that give us access to >90% of GP practices in the country) and we have won our first commercial contracts with NHS providers. We have laid the foundations for rapid growth. But we need more people in the NHS to know who we are, what we do and why they should care. That's where you come in.  

 

Interested? What will you actually be doing?

The Marketing Lead role at Appt is new – so you will have the opportunity to really put your stamp on the position.  You will be responsible for thinking up, designing and delivering marketing activities and campaigns to spread awareness of Appt's work. Your north-star measure of success will be how many more people in the NHS know and value what Appt does, because of your actions. Here are a few of the things you might be doing: 

  • Writing compelling content that communicates what Appt does and why we do it better than anyone else in the sector
  • Identify the most meaningful stories from our work that are worthy of wider market awareness
  • Identify and understand the motivations and interests of our target customers and create personas to increase the relevance of our content
  • Carry out desk/original research to add colour and relevancy to the content you create
  • Manage Appt's marketing website, blog and social media materials to support our wider business development activities
  • Measurably drive engagement through content, generating top-of-the-funnel sales leads

What skills will you need?

We are looking, first and foremost, for a team-player. Someone who relishes the opportunity to get involved across a company. You must have a track record of collaboration and problem solving.  

This role would be a great fit for someone entrepreneurial, someone who has their own opinions and isn’t afraid to speak their mind. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with not having all the answers, but who knows how to go and look for them.

Working with the NHS can at times be a challenge – someone with grit and determination who has the desire to make a positive impact through there work will excel int this position.

You will be joining a fun, positive and collaborative team and enjoy a flexible working environment (work wherever you feel most productive, with most of the team based in Central London). You will get plenty of annual leave to make sure you’re well rested (28 days + bank holidays + 4 duvet-days per year). We will pay you a competitive salary (£40k per annum) and you will be eligible for stock options from day-one.
