Production/Manufacturing Coordinator at Fun Beauty Startup at The Flat Lay Co. London

About Us:

We are a fast growing beauty accessories brand based in London. Founded in 2017, we are now proud to sell to some incredible retailers, including Boots, Sephora, ASOS and Urban Outfitters. Things are moving pretty quickly and it’s time to get an experienced Production and Manufacturing Coordinator on the team to manage the quality and timing of our manufacturing processes as we grow.


Type of job: Full time / permanent (We would consider a part-time role for the right person). Hours are flexible as long as you are available for meetings with stakeholders.


Where: Remote with the option to be Hybrid if you are London-based.



  • Manage critical path of product production, including new product development
  • Understand and keep up to date with product and packaging requirements and regulations
  • Organise testing and approve compliance of products
  • Oversee quality control
  • Ensure that high quality standards and client requirements are met at every stage of the production process
  • Negotiate product cost, payment and delivery terms with factories
  • Implement improvements to current processes for holding and shipping stock - eg setting up bonded warehouses
  • Track and manage quality and delivery issues
  • Review and improve all internal processes associated with production
  • Manage and complete relevant product documentation for import/export globally
  • Complete and stay up to date with retailer requirements and information requests on product/packaging composition/regulatory requirements


You are:

  • A self starter, able to self motivate even when working remotely
  • Knowledgeable about production systems and comfortable speaking up when there is a better way to do something
  • Always aware of the latest import/packaging/product regulations
  • Excited to take charge and have full autonomy in a role
  • Highly organised and comfortable with project management and managing communication with stakeholders and project contributors
  • Diligent with an excellent attention to detail
  • Keen to work in a startup where everything you do has an impact
  • Excited to work in a supportive and positive team in the beauty industry


You have:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience working in a production/manufacturing coordination role for a consumer brand
  • Excellent communications skills
  • The ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once
  • Experience with supplier negotiations
  • Cherry on top: Experience sourcing new factories


Although this role is full-time, we would definitely consider part-time for the right person, which would be ideal for a candidate looking for something more flexible that works around their family or generally looking for a work-life balance.
