Log my Care is one of the fastest-growing Care Software start-ups in the UK having quadrupled its customer base since the pandemic began.
Our mission is to digitise the social care sector (care homes and home care agencies) and help hundreds of thousands of carers to provide a better quality of care to the UK’s most vulnerable people. The sector is over 60% analogue and paper-based, losing out on the many benefits technology can bring. We’re passionate about changing this with our awesome mobile App and Web-based tools that make delivering care far, far easier for hard-working carers.
The role:
We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Technical Lead to join our ambitious team. Reporting to our CTO Adam, this role will focus on the strategy of our premium product and how we develop a high performing squad to deliver it! You will be the technical leader of a squad (~4 remote developers, QA, product designer, PM and foster a culture of engineering excellence.)
As our Technical Lead you will:
Supporting delivery teams through advice, coaching, leadership, and enablement of Engineers
Take a leadership role in the development and work closely with our CTO, product owner, and product designer to refine new ideas and translate them into technically feasible products.
Managing an offshore development team of ~4 based in Bucharest.
Architect technical solutions for new products and features.
Identify and fix bottlenecks in the production process.
Define and implement the long-term strategy and direction of the technology.
Mentor and coach more junior devs and review their work.
Champion the adoption of a TDD and DevOps mindset in the team.
Be prepared to be hands-on (coding) 50-70% of the time.
Some of the immediate projects you will be working on:
A health-data analytics dashboard
Roll out Auth0 & MFA for all 30,000+ users
IoT integrations with hardware products, like falls sensors and wearables
Optimising our platform for scale
It would be great if you had:
You are a seasoned engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience.
You have a deep working knowledge of the MERN stack: React, NodeJS, MongoDB, and Express.
You have 2+ years of experience managing a team of developers.
You are excited to move fast, know how to prioritise tasks and manage your time independently.
Experience in any of the following will be a big plus: AWS, Elastic Beanstalk, ExpressJS, MongoDB Atlas, Serverless, Firebase, Docker and GitLab CI.
A recognised qualification in computer science, information science, or similar. (Ideally this would be a bachelor's degree)

Our Interview Process:
Submit your Application and complete a virtual 30 minute Introduction Call with a member of our Talent Team
If you are successful at this stage we'll arrange an initial video call with our CTO who will explain the position, introduce Log My Care and get to know a little bit more about you (30 minutes)
Successful candidates at this stage will then be invited to an on-site technical interview and to meet some of the team (2.5hrs)
