Flutter developer
We’re looking for an experienced Flutter developer to join our team full-time at Refsuite. We are a platform for grassroots football that draws league planning, communication, reminders and pre/post match admin together in one place. Grassroots leagues are already saving thousands of hours of work every year with our product and we’re poised for explosive growth.
Working with our designer and co-ordinating with our back end developers you’ll be helping evolve and maintain our Flutter mobile and web apps. We are live in the app stores and have an ambitious roadmap with lots of greenfield development ahead.
You'll contribute to sprint planning and take on the full life-cycle of user features – deciding the technical approach, breaking them down into subtasks, estimating time and of course doing the implementation itself.
Also, you’ll be working with our junior developer, helping them tackle their user features by providing technical direction and advice around good practice in Flutter..
About you
At the minimum, you’ll have:
- 2 years’ Flutter experience, having worked on significant functionality in published apps.
- Good understanding of the Flutter state management approaches / frameworks and their trade-offs.
- Good judgement as to when to take on technical debt and ability to communicate the pros and cons of different options. Perfection can be as bad for shipping features as a big ball of mud (well, maybe almost as bad)!
- A passion for Flutter development, you keep up with the library ecosystem and best practices and will have an inkling when there’s something out there that might be perfect for a particular use case.
- Experience using Git
As a bonus you’d have:
- Written and published an app from scratch.
- Wear/Apple watch development experience using Flutter.
Hiring process
- Quick chat and screening questions.
- Flutter test (no more than 30 mins, we don’t want to waste people’s time)
- Full interview
Our culture
We have a dynamic, flexible and open culture. Suggestions are welcome from all directions and anyone can pitch in on product features. We like what happens when you have people in a room - spontaneous discussions, debates, chucking ideas around; so while this will be mostly remote working, we want people in the office at least two days a week. Office space is available in both Manchester and Birmingham.
Benefits
- Options scheme
- Work-from-anywhere weeks
- Flexible hours
- 24 days annual leave
