About us
IB Boost builds modern automation tools for enterprises and government for data integration, business intelligence, Robotic Process Automation and testing automation for enterprises and government, from standalone products to fully managed SaaS-style platforms in the cloud. We have our own software tool suites that are leaders in their niches and are gathering traction in broader markets, so we’re looking for motivated, technology-oriented people to help us grow.
What we’re looking for
As our Automation Consultant, you may find yourself:
- Implementing RPA solutions for our clients using our software suite
- Working alongside our software client delivery teams to automate testing of the solutions
- Working with our automation software development team to improve and extend our automation capabilities
- Developing automation business cases for our clients and RFP responses
- Developing automated tests for verification of functionality
- Helping the integration and extension of our automation software into our OCTANE platform
However, this list is far from exhaustive - we're a small start-up and needs change regularly, so be ready to get your hands dirty and jump into various activities! As with all of our roles, we look for people who can help drive the business and are ready for personal growth.
There may be some occasions where travel to client sites in the UK is required but this role is predominantly remote.
Technologies
You will be most suited for this role if you have experience with:
- Scripting (e.g. Bash/Korn, Groovy, Python, etc)
- Screen automation technologies (including Selenium, Playwright and Puppeteer)
- Modern DevOps environments, particularly virtualization and containerisation (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Open Stack, etc.)
- General concepts of Linux (especially CentOS/Alma/Rocky/RHEL and Ubuntu) and Windows Server
- General concepts of RDBMS (particularly MySQL/MariaDB/Postgres) but also an interest in in-memory persistence and column-oriented/document databases
- Configuration and release management (DevOps tools particular Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Vagrant and equivalents)
- AWS or Azure (both ideally but the concepts translate)
- Source control systems (particularly Git)
We’re flexible with experience levels for this role. It’s not a graduate position and some experience is required, but we are happy to consider someone with a couple of years of experience or someone who has been in the field for some time. A drive for results and a keen interest in technology go a long way, often further than education!

What can we offer you?
COVID drove us from remote-friendly to fully-remote and we currently do not have a physical office. We offer flexible and family-friendly hours where possible, although due to client-facing requirements we prefer the ability to work hours which predominantly overlap with standard UK working hours. There may be occasional London-based team meetings.
We offer a competitive salary based on experience, plus a company pension, healthcare scheme (with access to free/discounted health and wellbeing memberships), and discretionary bonuses. We’ll provide you with the technology you need to do your job, and we have regular social events so you can socialise with your colleagues in person (if desired).
If you enjoy a bit of Slack banter, tinkering with software, arguing about why colleagues should or should not buy an RTX 3090, can tolerate egg-based memes, and generally want to automate the heck out of everything then we're probably for you. If you join our team, you’ll get to work with a close-knit team of amazing people who are passionate about technology. You’ll learn lots and you’ll have a good laugh in the process.
Please note: You must be resident and have the right to work in the UK to be considered for this position. Due to our work with government clients, candidates must be able to pass UK Security Clearance.
