Are you an experienced product owner, looking for an industry-defining SaaS product to get your teeth stuck into? If so, we want to meet you!

We’re looking for a product powerhouse, whose expertise can take our roadmap to the next level. Managing Duel’s full product lifecycle, you’ll lead the vision of the product, working to deeply understand the needs of CMOs everywhere and ensure that the product is built to be recognised as the leading Brand Advocacy Platform on the market.

With a data-driven approach and a deep-rooted love of software - your creativity and innovation will generate new product ideas, and design specifications and ultimately be the key driver behind the successful execution of product delivery. This is a unique opportunity to fully own and drive the end-to-end success of an innovative future-disrupting product.

THE COMPANY

Duel was founded by world-record-breaking adventurer and former brand ambassador Paul Archer, alongside viral games developer Naio Tsarouchis.

They believed that purpose-led brands are changing the way we all live and set out to define how the greatest brands of tomorrow grow through their passionate customers and advocates. Duel exists to show there’s a better way to build businesses; how building long-term brand, integrity and reputation is the most profitable way to operate because of the advocacy it drives.

Our Brand Advocacy Platform allows mid-level to enterprise brands to do just that - scaling how they manage their relationships with thousands of advocates and brand ambassadors. We’re proud today that brands such as Monica Vinader, Charlotte Tilbury, Rab, Dove BeautyPie, Mint Velvet, Neom and Tropicfeel (to name a few) are doing just that.

The Duel team comprises psychologists, brand experts and community builders from companies including Amazon, Treatwell, Bain, Mimecast and Lululemon as well as young entrepreneurs, psychologists and other exceptional talents.

THE ROLE

Within this role, you’ll get under the hood of the Duel platform and its roadmap. Responsible for ensuring that our clients’ needs are anticipated and built into the vision, as well as keeping an eye on the competitive landscape and brand needs. Reporting into the Leadership team and working cross-functionally with Engineering, Brand Success and Commercial, you’ll be the most important link between Duel’s CMO customer and the development of the product.

You will be responsible for thinking about the product’s business case, market potential and working through the technical aspects of delivering a product to market.

Ownership of the Product

  • Owning the product roadmap and fulfilment of the product vision

  • Developing, scoping and defining backlog items (epics/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team

  • Solving product-related problems, and completing trade-off analyses to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments

  • Collaborating with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of the product

  • Work closely with product management and senior management in order to create a product that fits the company portfolio

Market Understanding

  • Maintain an understanding of Agile practices, Lean Startup and other new trends to support the CTO

  • Researching and analysing the Brand Advocacy market, its users and the roadmap for the product

  • Keeping up to date with Duel’s competitors and the industry more broadly, and what's hot in our customers’ minds

Strategy and Development

  • Working with internal and external clients and users to analyze the needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals

  • Drafting key objectives, results and strategies - then applying the data for the product to make business decisions

Voice of the CMO

  • The voice of the CMO - with a constant and up-to-date understanding of what they need and Duel’s platform caters to it

  • Representing stakeholders, brands, advocates and operators for the Duel team and vice versa!

Education

  • Continuing our clients’ education on the business mode, value and value proposition - as the product expert, you know it the best!

  • Maintaining a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies

  • Acting as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product.

  • Strong interpersonal skills - you’ll be developing relationships with team members and customers alike, owning the management of stakeholders and their expectations (and sometimes pushing back when their expectations are wrong!)

  • Natural born communicator - Able to take heavily technical information and make it that bit easier for everyone to understand

  • Solid internal presentation skills - you know how to get someone to buy into what you’re selling with hard facts and data

  • Organizational and time management skills

  • Data-driven and analytical - you’ll have a keen eye for detail, and enjoy looking at outcomes to make changes for better performance next time around.

  • Attention to detail

  • Active listener - You enjoy listening to people and their feedback

  • SaaS experience

  • Good knowledge of software development technologies

  • Familiar with agile processes

  • Hands-on experience in managing all stages of the product life cycle

  • Proven ability to stick to timelines and measure progress during development while updating key stakeholders on the status

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Flexible working hours - if you need to fit around childcare, or occasionally need to work around your life, we understand and will do our best to accommodate

  • 28 days holiday PLUS bank holidays and a 3-4 day office closure between Christmas and New Year's!

  • On-going training where required from a generous learning and development budget

  • Perks/Benefits: Gym membership, Headspace subscription and work-related or personal growth reading/Audible budget, cycle-to-work scheme, Anxiety UK access

  • EMI Options scheme for all full-time employees - it’s important to us that everybody owns a part of the company and shares in the benefits of what we build

  • £60,000 - £70,000 P/A depending on experience

We’re on a mission to build a remarkable company, with remarkable people and a remarkable culture that you will want to shout from the rooftops about. In a relaxed, flexible and fun environment, the team is driven to make the business a success, while enjoying what we do and who we do it with.
