Experience all aspects of startup growth and learn how to become social media and content growth ninja! Here at The Entrepreneurs Collective We are currently recruiting for an intern with an attitude. We are the fastest growing startup community in the UK and we are enjoying some great traction; with ~7000 founders and investors in our network already and we are looking for someone to join the team at this very exciting time.
The Entrepreneurs Collective is a members only community of early stage founders, scale ups and angel & VC investors. Our aim is to help our members grow in any way we can, from connecting them with other founders to share their experiences, offering business reviews and mentorship, negotiating special offers on leading products and services, running key skills workshops and hosting pitch competitions in front of a panel of investors. We have delivered big events with brands like Google, Samsung and Hubspot as well as smaller intimate lunches/dinners with investors and high net worth individuals at private members clubs.
What we are looking for: People with a passion for business. Your number one aim will be able to help us to grow the business, and you will be part of fun and competitive team which is seeking to organise events, collaborate with businesses and promotions, maximise the benefits to our members, and of course grow our members. If your looking to get experience, well we are a startup which believes in giving you the opportunity to try things. You will be a confident communicator, with strong communication skills and go-get attitude. You’ll need to be passionate about meeting new people and happy to muck in and get involved in a range of commercial initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Growth: With everything you will do you will need to approach it with a growth mindset. How might what you do increase engagement with new potential members and add value to our existing community (which encourages referrals)
- LinkedIn: Regularly updating our feed with engaging content to promote upcoming events, celebrate successful events we have delivered and keep our community informed with regular value add educational content pieces.
- Everbrite: One of our biggest growth channels our calendar needs to be fully updated with exciting and engaging event descriptions.
- Email Marketing: We have a variety of sectors within our community all with different needs and interests. You will need to keep them informed with the content relevant to them and avoid irrelevant spam for each audience to keep them engaged.
- Event photography/videography: You will need to have a keen eye for photography and videography. While you won't need to be a "professional" someone who can take good quality well framed photos/short videos on their phone or our camera for our content is required.
- Our Social platform(s): Keep our community uptodate, stimulate conversation, and drive engagement from within our community on our social platforms. Again we have sub sectors for our community each with their own priorities.
- Website: Creating attractive, Search Optimised content to our website to inform our current community and attract new audiences about our event and value added insights into the startup ecosystem.
- Hubspot: We use hubspot email automations as additional touch points for members and prospects along their journey with us. You will be trained on how to create these automations and workflows and tasked with keeping them updated and coming up with new concepts.
Whilst you’ll be working with our events team and directly with the CEO, you’ll also have independence to work on many of small projects, hopefully allowing you to build your own portfolio of great work. This role is best aimed at those looking to gain some professional experience, put their academic studies to practical use or maybe you have been running personal projects and would like to see if there is a career for you in social media and content marketing.
You will be required to give us minimum 3 days a week though we can be flexible to extent as to the time though this will generally be expected during 9-5:30. The company is growing quickly and we are keen to take people with us on our exciting journey and we are currently fundraising so we hope that post fundraising we will look to hire interns who prove themselves to be asset to the company.
DUTIES: You’ll be working in the heart of a startup with plenty of room to learn and try your hand in a variety of roles including, but not limited to:
– Marketing; traditional, digital and guerrilla/growth hacking!
- Generating Sales; Lead generation & Conversion Optimisation
– Press, PR and Media Relations
– Fundraising, investor outreach and relationship management
- Community Management, keep our members up to date and informed with all things startups!
– Creative content; images, video and text creation and editing.
– Technical; web development and optimisation
– Operations; project management, event organisation and logistics
SKILLS: This opportunity is for someone with the right attitude, but we do need some basics: Technically proficient in terms of using office equipment
Excellent communicator
An enthusiasm for creating business and talking to people.
Confidence, enthusiasm and the ability to challenge conventional thinking
-Anything else you can bring the table is a plus! Sales Experience, HTML, CSS, PHP, Hubspot or similar CRM experience, SEO, PPC, Social Media Management/Advertising, Web Design, Wordpress, Photoshop, Final Cut, etc. amazing, but by no means essential.

For the right candidate we would hope to offer a permenant position at the end of a 12 week internship.
Salary: Minimum Wage + Inclusion in company wide bonus scheme.
