Over the past decade, our books have brought special moments to millions – celebrating birthdays, building bonds at bedtimes and inspiring kids to be enchanted by their own limitless potential. And we’ll keep doing that. But we’re also branching out – with deeply personalised books for parents, partners, grandparents, best friends…all the special people in your life. We’re bringing the power of true personalisation to all the occasions that bring us closer together.

We won Children’s Publisher of the Year in 2021 and we have even bigger ambitions.

We’re now looking for a Head of Content to join our Design Studio at Wonderbly.

The successful candidate will take the lead in bringing our Wonderbly voice to the surface in everything we do and carve out impactful experiences for our wide audience.

The Design Studio is made up of three pillars; brand design, product design and content design.

You’ll work closely with the Brand Design Lead and the Product Design Lead in building 360 experiences, reporting into the Creative Director. You’ll manage a permanent Mid-weight Copywriter and a few trusted freelance copywriters and consultants.

The role

  • Own, define and champion the Wonderbly voice by contributing to and maintaining brand and product playbooks with writing guidelines and best practices

  • Write, edit, and improve our copy across all channels

  • Create impactful experiences that resonate with our audience and contribute to business goals

  • Work directly with product design, brand design, product management, marketing and publishing teams to solve problems with a focus on an optimal user experience

  • Deliver on projects autonomously, from researching and concepting before the brief to final implementation, while communicating progress and status

  • Edit and contribute to designs and content in Figma

  • Help to instil a content-driven culture by leading on workshops with the core team and outside teams

  • Establish new processes, systems, frameworks, guidelines, templates, and resources to establish and run a content strategy team, such as a cohesive writing style guide, a unified voice for all platforms and a well-integrated content management practice


A little bit about you

  • Native-level English fluency

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, UX or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years’ experience writing and designing content across all web and marketing channels

  • 5+ years' experience directly managing, mentoring and developing full-time employees

  • Great experience working with freelance resource and external creative agencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Experience building TOV guides, style guides, brand strategy and language systems

  • Vast knowledge and understanding of UX principles

  • Ability to take on each part of the content design process, from ideation and researching, to testing, shipping, and iterating

  • Adept at simplifying and communicating complex ideas to different audience segments

  • Experience collaborating with and influencing a vast variety of cross-functional peers and stakeholders (e.g., marketing teams, product managers, data scientists, product designers, brand designers and engineers).

  • Good working knowledge of Figma

  • Self-starter who can co-lead projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment, while adapting when strategy and requirements evolve and change
